    Black Bear attacks 2024

On the news this morning there is doorbell camera footage of an adult cougar in a heavily populated city far from typical cougar habitat. Should the kids pack guns or spray to stay safe on their walk to school? Not a serious question or intended to be, just a thought while reading your post.

    Black Bear attacks 2024

I have used bear spray on a black bear sow with desired effect. Had I used a gun on her it would have orphaned the two cubs she was protecting when I startled them while bowhunting. I generally don’t carry spray or a handgun, but when I feel a situation warrants protection would lean to...

    2024 Hunting Season

Filled my archery cow or spike bull tag. The hoyt bow and slick trick broadheads have been outstanding for me once again. I apologize for the poor picture, I was alone and darkness coming, wanted to get the guts out and get her cooled as much as I could. It got dark while I was working-I quit...

    Velvet bucks

From my treestand last night-hunting elk, no tag for deer this year. And it’s a small buck so not a shooter but glad to see a buck anytime. The grey doe hated the red doe and would kick her and chase her off every time she got close.

    They Are Ruining The Olympics

Fair statements-I’m just not willing to let a couple fly specks ruin an entire container of pepper-

    They Are Ruining The Olympics

Well, I softly disagree. I have greatly enjoyed the games and the athletes and have cheered for my own country as hard as some of the others. I try to look past the BS (and human s in the river) and enjoy the things that are done well. I don’t love it all, but I am enjoying most of it.

    Texas Ridge Fire

I work for a large fire dept. in Utah. The department has activated and sent multiple crews to assist other states with their emergencies. I hope you all see some relief soon!

    139gr Hornady Interbond

A good friend of mine killed two exceptional caribou bulls with a 7mm-08 and the sst. He was in love with the combo until the grizzly popped up! Suddenly he was rethinking all his life choices! No harm done and all ended well. I would have been shooting a more stout bullet and probably a...

    139gr Hornady Interbond

I love that bullet in one of my little 7’s-sadly they have been so hard to come by that I moved on and haven’t gone back. A tough bullet for sure

    Another Coyote for the .22-250

This is my dedicated varmint rifle but I’ve shot a lot more coyotes while hunting other things with other rifles than with this one. Savage .223 rem. Shooting a 65 gr sierra gameking ( H335) or a 55 gr nosler ballistic tip (rl 10x)

    Got the 300 WM back

Don’t give up on imr4350-my go to load with the 180 accubond. With 180 and 200 gr trophy bonded bear claw RL-22 reigns supreme.

    Pre Season Shooting

I always liked the thud and explosion of hitting milk jugs refilled with water. But it’s much too hot for shooting here, so the only preseason shooting I do this month is with my bow. Wish I was shooting rifles to 800, I really love to do that-enjoy!
