For what it's worth, I've used Butler Creek and 3 or 4 neoprene covers and found them falling short of what I thought was absolute protection. I then discovered flip up covers by Monstrum Tactical. I guess you could call them overbuilt versions of the Butler Creek covers. Not knowing how they...
Outstanding! Just proves my opinion you don't need to spend $1000's to get tiny groups. Consistency of ammo nowadays makes me wonder why I reload myself. For me it's therapy. Of course congrats to you for being such a capable marksman. Bug hole groups only come if the shooter is quite capable...
Although I lack the experience hunting big critters in the west as most on this forum, I am a huge fan of the 338 Federal. Mine is a Ruger Hawkeye that loves the Federal 185 TSX. It is devestating on 300# hogs down here in South Texas. It kills all out of proportion to what you would think. I...
Since 90% of my hunting is for deer and Hogs here in Texas I have found my 700 Mountain rifle in 708 fulfills my every need. I know this is a Nosler forum but since I shoot Hornady 139 GMX superformance (three shots half an inch) I can't complain. I've ceased loading for that caliber. It was...
Thanks Dr Mike
I appreciate you letting me know. I just visited the thread you referred me to. It's nice to see someone who has a passion and the talent and time to pursue it. The notion of using .45 cases to establish the ends of the swivels. I'm envious!

Most impressive thing I've seen in quite some time. I can't draw a straight line with a ruler yet you've taken a piece of wood and are turning it into a mighty fine looking stock. Hand tools only, no pantagraph! WOW!!
Please don't tell me this is your first attempt at stockmaking?

Those are some fine looking "pit pigs" there. Slow smoked over fresh mesquite, you can't find much better eating. Obviously both bullets performed admirably-one shot, dead pig. It's difficult to argue about a failed bullet when the result is a "drt" animal. I still want a bullet, monolithic or...
Boyds lists a stock for a Parker Hale (Mauser 1200). Not sure if it is the same as your variant. You might measure the distance between the action screws and diameter of the action then give them a call. It may cross with one they list. Hope this helps.

Good morning. I'm new to the forum but really enjoy reading everyone's posts. It may not be your load. I had the exact same thing happened to me about 3 months ago after I replace the scope on a Ruger Gunsite Scout. Fortunately it was a known load in that firearm that shot under an inch. My...
