Can Cougars Push Deer and Elk Out of an Area?

I think there are a number of other factors to it. They can certainly push game out of an area. It depends on the habitat and concentration of game.

    Factory Shells Leaking Buffering

I've used a drop of candle wax on some reloads with a gap. I usually shoot them and toss the hull.

It's pretty cool what we find out in nature.

    Nosler brass

I bought some factory ammo of there's. All three boxes had some bad brass. Some not bad but others bad shoulders, necks, etc. I was planning to reload the brass so they did replace it. To Noslers credit they have made it right anytime I have had a problem. I think I've only had to twice though.

    What would you do?

I had the same thing happen to some 300 Win Mag I reloaded. 5 different charges. I had to pull bullets, weigh powder, reseat bullet, and then place back in the correct row. Sucks but that's what is needed.

Why no Nosler load data for 6.8 Western

I understand a couple powder companies have reloading data. I was able to use Hodgdon to get started. It doesn't change the fact that Nosler does not. I hope they change that. I almost always use Nosler data.

    Back in the 1990's

I enjoy muzzleloader hunting. My first was a Thompson Center New Englander in 54 cal. Only killed one doe with it but used to chase elk up the mountain with it. Yours looks like a cool muzzleloader in great condition.

7mm RM/150 grain Partition for elk?

150 grain bullet is plenty of bullet for elk. Especially given the velocity out of your rem mag. The partition is solid enough of a bullet to hold up and penetrate. If you wanted to reach out further distances you would benefit stepping up a little in weight and possibly using an Accubond...

    Chronograph

I bought a Caldwell a few years ago to record data. It worked ok. Problem is setting it up. At the public range I hate messing with it. I found myself leaving it at home most of the time. I was looking at the Garmin last week. I noticed the Athlon for less. After reeding up on it and...

    Best Tasting Animal?

I like almost all of it. Elk takes the top spot and seems the most consistent. I really like pronghorn, The bear I've had has been excellent but depends what they were eating. My moose was really good but I probably slightly prefer elk. Deer is good but more variable. Small game I used...

Why no Nosler load data for 6.8 Western

Yes Barnes and Sierra both have load data. Sorry if I miss stated that.

Why no Nosler load data for 6.8 Western

I somewhat get the competitor aspect. However, how many Hornady cartridges does Nosler provide load data for? Is the primary business selling bullets or their Nosler cartridges? There are a handful of rifle manufacturers chambering. I get it's not the most popular. It's just strange that...

What is "reasonable" accuracy for a hunting rifle?

My opinion is it depends how far you are shooting. My goal is 1" at 100 yards. However, most hunting distances 1.5" is plenty accurate enough. While you can get away with more I always like to get tighter groups. Under pressure and fatigue I like having a margin of error for in the field.

Why no Nosler load data for 6.8 Western

I recently purchased a 6.8 Western to try out. I saw some 165 grain Nosler ABLR seconds and thought they would be good to try out. I was surprised to see no load data by Nosler. I managed to find a load on Hodgdon. It is surprising there is no Nosler Load data. They have 160 Partitions, 165...

    Insurance For Firearms

I have some added insurance through my Home owners. I believe NRA also provides a small insurance for members. I haven’t looked into if you can increase that.
