Either one will work. Whichever your gun shoots better. The accubond would have higher BC but probably not much of a consideration unless shooting past 400 yards. I've killed deer and elk with both. I think the partitions held together a bit better but didn't have any issues with either.

I've never had blown primers from factory ammo. Normally it would be worn primer pockets or too hot of a load. Not sure on the factory ammo. Try some other ammo to make sure it's not something with the rifle. If other ammo is fine I would reach out to Federal to see if they had issues with...

Unlikely to have issues with the change in your load in your 308. Not overheating your barrel will help.

It sounds like other primers work just fine. Might be worth emailing Remington and providing the lot number. Just confirm they didn't have a bad batch or anything. If they did they should replace. Probably not the case but for the time it takes to send one email worth it in my mind.

I guess I would say there is no need to switch from the 280 Rem if you are happy with it. Me personally though if I am rebarreling anyway I would do the 280 Ackley Improved. Pick whichever you like and be happy with it.
