I prepped and sorted the WW brass and went with RS Magnum. Hodgdon's Load Data said 71 was Max. I never ran into excess pressure even at 71. It did, however, do its best accuracy/speed with 70.5 at 2958fps and a rounded 1.1" group. I got way under an inch at 69.5, but speed was barely 2800. My...
I'm using ADG brass and Grand with the 175 NPT. I want to save those components and use the WW Brass and probably N560 or RS Magnum. I can interpolate though, thanks guys.
I have a wad of SS Win 1x fired brass and several good powders. I have some Grand Slams and Sierras, want to try and get them to 2900+. I'm thinking 62K? I'm looking for a good Practice load. I'm using ADG brass/175 NPT and Grand for now for cow elk. ( I like to thump them!) Any help...
Thank you Sir! I recently found a great deal (though not inexpensive!) on a Fierce Edge in 7RM. I sold my '06 and 338 in order to get it! ha However, the rifle is made in "Utah", God's Country, My Part of the Harvest Field! I've had a couple CA Mesa's too, also made in Utah. But I like this...
The last critter I killed with my old 35 Whelen Ackley was the Eurasian hog up on the U.P., MI. I used the Woodleight 310 RN, man what a killer, made a silver dollar exist...at 35 yds. Blew chunks of Joy for 20feet! Love those Woodleighs...Or Hawks.
I "briefly" had a 358 Norma mag. I went through having it rebarreled, even shot it 10 times with DoubleTap 180 TTSX going 3100. Then I got clobbered by ObammaCare Extortion. Had to sell about everything I had. I figured I would "have a good chance" of being the only one the mountain with one, ha.
Last time I was there, 2002, we shot a fat Impala ewe and the Afrikaners cooked it all day long in a big smoker! Served with tons of Boer Vorst (sausage), and steak! Those Afrikaners eat more meat than anyone I ever met, ha!
Thank you sir, the Lord has definitly Blessed me with favor/opportunities to travel some/hunt while there. The Springbuk and that Black Wildebeast and Burchells Zebra, "to me" are just the Epitome of South Africa Game. "A Must" kind thing, lol. The "Texas Slam" is a nice and "used to be" very...
Last 250 I worked with in my 35 Whelen Improved was the Nosler 250 PT. I used R15 "but" a friend suggested I use a magnum Primer. It made a huge diffference. That rifle also had a long throat. AA2015 works very good also with the 250.
