Old Thread but for guys looking for heavy loads....I used R15 and a magnum primer behind the Woodleigh 310 in a 22" 35 Whelen Ackley for 2400fps! I killed one poor unsuspecting eurasion hog up on the UP of MI..30 yd shot/ 40 cal in .75 cal out, chunks blew for 25ft other side. No loss of meat!

I feel I should add that this is out of a tight chambered (and apparently tight bore) Fierce Edge. YMMV

I've shot Speer HotCors since the '70s, great bullets. The 280 Ackley and 160 sptzer was wicked on a grown cow elk. The 170 HC in the 30-30 Ackley at 2450+ was awesome on a huge sow at 30yds. Elk capable for sure. Shot many of the 250gr sptzers in the 35 Whelen and in the 35 WAI. Used the 220fn...

I have been using RS Grand in ADG brass under the 175 NPT. I get a nice 1" group going 3050fps average. I have also tried RS Magnum behind the Sierra 175 SBT and get the same accuracy but at 2985. I would try either with the 150...just saying.

I shot it with the 110 Hammer in a 6.5 Creedmore. I also use it in the 30-06/150, its great stuff! It reminded me of how R17 and R26 worked.
