I have used QL for a number of years. I have found out to be a valuable tool! I don't consider it fool proof. I find it differs a lot with loads for the 45/70.
Checking my QuickLoad program 52.5 of H335 should give me 2100 FPS and PSI of 27807 from a 32 inch barrel. I am looking at Accurate 2495 as well woth a Hornady 325 grain bullet. 52.2 grains. close to 2100 and good pressure.
Thanks again!
I have been shooting Nosler bullets since the mid 1950s.
They have always done what they have said they would do. I try not to shoot any other bullet.
Last time I hunted Africa I used .375 Partitions in my bolt rifle.
My next trip in 2011 I will be taking my 404 Jeffery along with my 400...
I've been using Nosler Bullets in every rifle I can. I've been doing this since 1956. The only rifles I do not use Noslers in are my bolt action 404 Jeffery .423 caliber and my 400 Jeffery .408 caliber.
There is an ever growing market for these big bore bullets. Ruger in their No. 1, Heym...
Any chance that we could see some 400 grain .410 Partitions or Accubonds for the 400 Jeffery (450/400 3 inch)?
While I'm at it, I might as well wish for some 400 grain .423 for my 404 Jeffery.
I've used Noslers all my life, I wish I could use them in my 400 Jeffery and my 404 Jeffery.
Just...
I'll add my praises of the Nosler Partition.
I've been shooting Nosler Partitions since crica 1956. I have used them in .257 Roberts, .257 Wby, 300 Wby, 300 Apex, 30-06, 9.3X62M, 375 H&H. In all this time I have never had a terminal ballistics failure of a Nosler Partition. They are not...
I know the older Noslers had what I call "Machined" jackets.
I was hoping to get one of the Nosler folks to comment.
The 375 Nosler is a potent bullet. In my opine it is good up through Cape Buffalo. Perhaps just due to the caliber is a "tougher" bullet?
