    6mm arc Encore issues???

An update. Go gauge is .009 below flush of the barrel. Gap of frame to barrel is .002. I should send the barrel back, but I don't want another like it. So, I got some 6.5 grendel brass and am in the process of sizing necks and bumping shoulders back to fit with .0015 clearance. This will...

    6mm arc Encore issues???

Thanks for that. I'll try and see. I used to do that 25 years ago in a 35 remington contender Jamie

    6mm arc Encore issues???

That's what I'm thinking. I didn't want to say it until I heard other opinions. My friends howa I'm loading for is getting roughly the velocity in the load data with a 22" barrel and no brass or primer issues. Starting at the same loads I'm ~150-200 fps slower with a 26" barrel. His brass(same...

    6mm arc Encore issues???

Sorry, I thought with the Thompson center encore, being able to handle a 300wm, it should be able to handle bolt gun loads 6mm arc???

    6mm arc Encore issues???

Also, it does this, without the primer crater(shoulder moving forward), at starting bolt gun load. Which is .7 grains below max of gas gun load.

    6mm arc Encore issues???

It is new. It only locks up because of the primer crater. After open, the brass falls out no problem. I was just measuring as best I could with new brass and once fired in this situation. The shoulder appears to be moving .010 forward. It still extracts and goes back in just fine. New brass...

    6mm arc Encore issues???

The only issue is with the cratered primer cases, it locked up the gun where I had to really wrestle with it to get it open.

    6mm arc Encore issues???

Guys, I'm just not sure. I've been loading my own for about 20 years and this has me stumped. I've been loading the 90 tac tx for bolt gun pressure according to Barnes load data. Starline brass, Trimmed 1.48", cci 400, LVR, TAC, and 2520 powder, and bullet .050 off the lands, which is 2.34"...

    6mm arc bullets

Well, I'm starting down a road I've never been on. I'm mainly going to be target shooting with this rifle, but may like to hunt with it as well. It is an Encore with a 1-7.5 twist, 26" barrel. Most of my hunting(42 years)has been done with muzzleloader and rifles 35 caliber and up. Heavier...

    New from Indiana

Kind of long winded on this, but here goes. Mine is a Stevens 200 that started lif as a 22-250, blind magazine. I was doing water jet work at the time and made my own barrel nut wrench and barrel vise. Got a Shilen barrel with 1-14 twist and throat cut to accept 200 ftx at 2.62" c.o.a.l. and...

    New from Indiana

Thank you so much, sir. We've not been able to use rifles for that long in Indiana, to deer hunt with, and that's my main goal. Now, I'm still trying to learn distance target shooting, which I've never had to do, but I want to start with what I have on hand and eventually build from that. You...

    New from Indiana

Hello everyone, I'm new here, but have visited everyday for about the past year. I'm a hunter, fisherman, and outdoorsman from Indiana. I love archery, but after shoulder issues I have been using a crossbow for some time. I've been a reloader for several years. I've built a few 35 remington...
