I live right on the Black River in the low country of South Carolina. The area right around my house was well known for its stands of big long leaf pines. The majority of those pines at one point in time had catch cans on them to collect the resin just below where an area of bark would be...

Yes sir I'm fortunate to be alive after my fall and even more fortunate that I was later able to walk again. I fell 23 feet while hanging a loc on tree stand. I had unbuckled my harness to get past a limb I wanted to use for camo. Then for some reason I couldn't get the buckle...
I was in Clemson last week with the wife watching girls softball. I graduated from there 30 years ago. It's pretty up there but I'm a flat lander and love the swamp. I live just south of Kingstree on Black River. I used to fish Cape Romain a lot plus down in Beaufort a good bit. Don't get...
I really enjoy shooting my sons 1903-A3 30-06. I download it just a bit and we shoot targets with it with open sights. That gun certainly has a strong action. My main 150 grain load in 308 runs 2905fps. Right in there with factory 30-06 offerings. It has a 26" varmint contour barrel and is...
Many of these deer were shot at ranges over 200 yards. But some as short as 100. Most of my kills with depredation are from 150 yards to 450 yards with the Grendel and the Creedmore, 400-900 with the 6.5-06. I prefer the Grendel and Creedmore for the reduced recoil and quicker transition to...
For a long time we were not allowed to touch a carcass other than to tag it. Lots of it gets deboned and used by my family, friends and folks that I know need the meat and can't afford to buy it. I have recently been contacted by a guy that runs a hunters for the hungry program. The deer will...
I Bet! Definitely have to watch out for those guys. Though I kinda like the old 30-06 myself. I have a couple of the newer calibers and they work fine. But I tend to be drawn to the older common calibers. They work and I don't have difficulty finding brass.
The 308 that I shoot the most is my 1 in 10 twist Ar. It shoots 150s like buckshot patterns but throw most any 165 or 168 grain bullet in it with AR Comp powder and it will flat out drive tacks. Except for the 168 eldm. They shoot OK but not great. I mostly shoot 168 Amax in it running...
I just bought 100 pieces of their Creedmore small rifle primer brass. I have a lot more small rifle primers saved up right now compared to LRP so I'm interested in seeing how it does.
I'm late to the party here but I will share my personal experience. I kill a lot of deer with the Grendel, Creedmore, and 6.5-06. I shoot deer depredation permits and also hogs and don't want to post numbers but it's a lot. I personally think that the 143eldx is a bit too hard at Creedmore...
I've used Starline in 6.5 Grendel right alongside of Hornady and in my rifle I can mix them and
shoot the same sized groups and same POI with the exact same load. I generally anneal after 1 or 2 firings but that's just me. I haven't used any nickel cases so can't say anything about those...
Hey Guys. I'm new here. I hope I'm posting this in the right spot as one of my main interests is reloading. Been lurking for a while and participate on a couple of other sites. Been in the South Carolina Lowcountry my whole life. Been hunting for 50 years and reloading 35 of those. Hunted...
