I'm just curious about what the big attraction is to the 170s for the 30-30. Asides from the obvious heavier bullets equal deeper penetration. The reason I ask is because I have noticed on the back of federal fusion's box, the 170s are going faster and carrying more energy beyond 200 yards...

I ended up moving away from the Hornady products. I use 150 gr nosler ballistic tips. Same charge weight, 63.0 gr of imr 4831. The only Hornady product I use is their leverevoution. Wouldn't mind checking out their superformance for my 7mm. Sent from my Z982 using Tapatalk
