I have killed multiple Ohio white tails with my Ruger super Redhawk 44 magnum. 6 inch barrel with a fixed two power Simmons scope.(don’t rag the scope. It came on the gun and does its job.). Furthest shot I have ever successfully killed a deer was I killed a doe at 58 yards One of the largest Whitetail bucks I killed to date was at 28 yards. Tried multiple hand loads, multiple self-defense loads, and the gun and myself, as the heavier bullets were too hot to handle settled in with Magtech 240 grain semi jacketed flat points Have not run into a white tailed deer that has objected to being shot with one of those.
