It's on sale at Amazon you can also do a 5 month interest free plan if you want to spread the price out. I am thinking of trying this on my Henry 45/70 where my shots are under 50 yards and illumination is helpful in brush hunting territory.

Also noticed they had Burris Scope mount on sale, more for an AR I decided to grab one. I have regular rings I can use on the Henry if this mount does not work but at same time if I decide to try this scope on my AR I'll need the mount and at $50 not a bad price. Sale is for 30MM or 1 inch of anybody needs a mount now or in the future.

45/70 can be heavy recoilling. My 1800fps 325’s were zeroed, and I did some 2300 gps 300 grain bullets. Knocked it 6” off zero.
Not sure how I will resolve. It has a mid range Vortex on it. That’s the first Vortex that didn’t hold zero solidly. I’ve had a few Burris’s in the past and they served me well.
More sanction if you’re going to load your 45/70 heavy.

I actually canceled the order for the scope but kept the base. I have an issue right now with the Leopold on it as every time I take it back out to shoot the zero is off. I have a different idea I will just put a Trijicon Accupoint on it. I have an Accupoint on one of my crossbows with the amber triangle post they are tough scopes I have one with the green post on my Ruger1 45/70 and have had no issues with it. First thing is I am going to shoot it again to see if it is off then likely will have to send it back for service it is a VX6 1x6 with the firedot so I will put it on a lighter rifle maybe the Henry Creedmoor will be a good choice or mount it on the crossbow.

Interesting. Have been looking at Nightforce and Trijicon for a project gun and the more I read, the more I’m thinking that’s what I should have on my 45/70.

I did buy two optics for that gun. A sig red dot for bear hunting under 50’yards and a Leupold 1-5 HD5. The Leupold moved over to my 3006 as a backup for said bear hunts.(did 3 Ontario black bear hunts through a flyin fishing camp. Cool way to hunt. Dropped on shoreline. Stands typically 40-70 yards from drop point, so quiet in and out aside from boat motor which… is a little bit like ringing pavalov’s dogs bell… they know dinner is coming. Guide must have had some bad experiences with hunters who made bad shots… wanted minimum 35 cal. I’ve used 45/70 which pleased him and my son took a 300 WSM that the guide was not happy about tin til he saw the carnage a 220 grain SPH causes at 2800fps… we found the jacket expanded to 1.875”. Entrance would was huge and exit was huger… basically vacated lung cavity.
Let me know bid you get the Trijicon
And how it does.
