Is or has anyone loading Hunter powder in the 243 Win? I don't recall trying it before and when I got this last 243 back the book I kept load data and targets was lost. Have used H4350, IMR4350, IMR4831, WIN 760. So if you will, share your thoughts and results with Hunter. Thanks, Dan.

what bullet are you planning on using ?

it's been many years since I loaded for the 243 . I used IMR7828 , before IMR7828sc was on the market . I found the 100 gr Partition to be my bullet of choice , for whitetails .

I used the Nosler 100gr PT as my first choice before followed by the 95gr BT. Planning on staying with 100gr bullets as this rifle will be just going deer hunting and range trips. Got a couple of other brands of 100gr to try, practice with, save the Nosler PTs for hunting. Looking over different powders for the 243 and seeing Hunter gives good velocity levels was why I was asking about it. Got some loaded for a ladder test.

I apologize that I can't answer your question directly, but I have used Hunter in my 7-08 loads with a 165gn Norma Bondstrike. Maybe there are some similarities? All of my groups were concentric and relatively small (.6s to 1.1s) with little idiosyncrasies. I also never experienced any pressure signs. I recall using Alpha brass w/ magnum small rifle primers. ES and SD weren't great but also not horrible for my purposes (hunting at moderate ranges). It's worth noting that most of my loads were compressed due to the projectile length and seating depth (COAL: 2.94).

Hope it helps.

Hunter does well in my 270win and not so well in 6.5x55 but that was a limited trial that can be explored more. We'll see how it does in this 243. Thanks for sharing your info.

I use Reloder 22 for heavy bullets and Reloder 16 for light bullets. Of course they aren't currently available but they are perfect for 243 Win. I would likely try that powder or even maybe Ramshot Grand as it performs similar to Reloder 22 though a bit slower.
