Won’t buy another Savage ever again

Take any barrel from any manufacture and it will cost roughly twice as much installed on a number 1 as it will on a Savage, or just about any other rifle. I hate having to swap barrels on a #1

And finding a good gunsmith to work on a #1 is a challenge. Lots say they will but can they do it correctly. The ones who can and will are booked up.

I have a Savage 22 Mag that won’t feed. Checked all the screws, tried different ammo brands. Called Savage and they sent me a new magazine. Still won’t feed no matter what I do. Will send it back to them eventually. Hate even seeing that gun in the safe.
Exactly the same with my new one. For me, the magazine sits fine when the bolt is closed, but when you open it to cycle the action, the mag drops just enough to keep it from picking up the round correctly and the bullet nose jams up against the bottom of the breach face. Very frustrating.

Rifle shoots accurately enough. It's a 93 something, something with the stainless bull barrel and synthetic stock.
