I have been using a 257 Weebe since the mid-eighties! The last few years it is my long range groundhog rifle. I started out using IMR 4831, have switched to IMR 4350, results have been good.

A friend and I go every chance we get! The Spring was wet and cool and the hogs were not out much. Now the problem is the rain on Saturdays, 9 out of 10 trips, some or a lot, on the day we were hunting. This past Saturday we managed to get 7 of the varmints. It was 90* degrees, humid, hazy...

I'll check on the twist today and get back to you, been hunting the "Wily Whistle Pig".

I have a German made Mark V, 24" barrel, hat full of IMR 4350, CCI mag. primer, 130 gr. BT. The velocity is 3250 fps., 15 ft. from the muzzle, accuracy can be 1 hole for 3 shots, also have had 2" groups and larger.

I use the Nosler BT, 100 gr. on groundhogs out of a 257 Weatherby mag.. I do get some expansion over 500 yds., none out pass 600 yds.. they do seem to leave some evidence of a hit at the greater ranges. The 50 gr. BT out of a 220 Swift gets dicy past 500 yds..

New member wants to say hi to everybody, I put a Douglas barrel on a Swift this past winter. I'm pleased with the results, tried Nosler BT's, 50 gr., made my heart flutter, group wise.
