I have a 700 rem bdl ss that I bought last November. I shot a whitetail doe with the 160 gr. partition factory loads at 150 yards. Bang flop. Those factory loads were very hot! I experienced sticky bolt lift. They chronographed at 3015 f.p.s. I've been loading 140 and 160 gr. accubonds. I get...
I should have said most popular regionally. I'm in whitetail country in Pa. Lots of 7mm's and 30's here. The 270 has been my favorite for years, but this new 7saum sure has been fun to work with.
In the last two days I've been to three gunshops. I finally found two boxes of 7mm 140 gr. accubonds at the last one. Grice gun shop did'nt even have any. All of the shops say they sell more 7mm 140's than anything else. I would have thought they would sell more 30 cal. 180's.
That must be a very popular bullet. The gun shop I frequent is sold out. They said they should have some more in next week. The 140 accubond shoots .375 out of my 7 saum.
I don't know if I qualify, having a 7 saum but I usr H-4350 with 140 gr. accubonds and H-1000 with the heavier bullets. I have a good load with 61 grs. of H-4831 and 150 gr. partitions. Very accurate and about 2921 f.p.s.
I know that the 160 has a high b.c. It looks to me that it is about the longest 7mm hunting bullet I've seen. I'm just concerned with bloodshot meat with the 140 mainly.
I've settled on two loads in my 7 saum. A 140 accubond at 3100 f.p.s and a 160 accubond at 2950 f.p.s. When both are sighted 2.5 inches high at 100 yards which one has the flatter trajectory?
