So I am stuck between getting the remington 700 SPS stainless and having some smith work done or buying the 700 CDL SF. Here is the break down as I see it....please comment
700 SPS Stainless $599 700 CDL SF $889
-barrel Fluting $100...
i guess my thinking is to go with the 700 CDL SF..I found one for $889 new by my cabin. That way I get my wood stock that I like now, and can always put a Bell/Carlson stock on later, and its a 24" barrel instead of 22". Any other ideas/thoughts?
They can be found under 1000 pretty easily. Just have that Master Fotis put a search out for ya. Scotty
I agree but then it wont be bedded from the factory? Keep the suggestions coming, and if anyone has some custom ideas i would be open to that...i've just never done it
I am with Mike. If you want it fluted and bedded from the factory the EW is awesome and comes in less than a 1000.00.
---Which Winchester model do you think I can get bedded/fluted from the factory for under $1000? The Extreme Weather says $1179?
I am in the market for another rifle and have an imposed $1300 limit. I'd like it chambered in a .30cal. Can you guys suggest a shooter based on my wish list?
1. fluted stainless barrel
2. aluminum bedded
3. prefer wood stock, but can be convinced of a synthetic (starting to grow on me :grin...
Only if I can field test a few of them. Bedding is pretty easy and pillars are pretty darned easy to work with as well. Scotty
ill ship it to you this weekend and you can shoot it all you like to "test" your work?
totally agree with you. What i'm wondering is if there is anyplace i can look up and see what the actual length is the magazine will tolerate, outside of trial and error? I've beeen on wehterby's website but that info isn't available.
thanks for the link, great article. Its nice to know i'm...
