Need some .30-06 with 180 gr Accubond loads

57.5gr H4350 with WLR primers goes 2775-2800 FPS in a 24" tube.Shoots .5 to 1 MOA right out to 400yds where I have shot 5 in 4".I use the data for both 180 gr accubonds and 180gr ballistic tips. The baltips shoot flatter but both are dead on left to right.RB

I load 300 winmag for a Tikka T3. I load to magazine length,3.34-3.36".I have loaded 180gr Accubonds with 100%+ capacity slow powder loads.I use a drop tube, then tap the brass to settle the powder and I got the bullets to seat with minimal powder crunching. I have loaded other manufactures...

30 cal 165gr Part. and Grizz question

Whelenator-well said. I am a regular at a few of these forums.I take in alot with out too terribly much to say.I tried to hash through what alot of guys have to say,you can pick up some good points reading an arguement. 30 cal 165gr Part. and Grizz question

Eagleye-thanks for the comments.I was beginning to think all 1-11" twists did'nt like the heavier weights.Do your experiences echo Whelenators?Do your slow twist barrels shoot the partitions better than say the accubonds?I will look at the data and figure out where I should start. Pop-thanks for...

30 cal 165gr Part. and Grizz question

Thanks Whelanator. I am new to the Grizz game.I have hunted in their country but not for them.I am always open to details and any experiences retold to me.I will have at least a good 180gr PT load if not a 200gr load if I decide to try and take one for myself.I understand the 165gr PT has the...

30 cal 165gr Part. and Grizz question

thanks Kutenay for the input. The T3 has a 1:11" twist rate and it likes the lighter bullets. That said if I want to use the rifle for Grizz,I can develop a 200gr load and as long as it will group under 2 MOA reliably I can use it to 150yds +/-.I am under that with the 180 Accubond now and...

30 cal 165gr Part. and Grizz question

my T3 300 winmag shoots the 165gr bullets much more accurately than the 180gr pills.I am wondering whether a 165gr part. @ 3050 fps would be considered suffice Griz medicine. This load is hitting with 2900# @100yds, 2500# @ 200yds and 2000# @ 300yds.I would not try to shoot a griz over 200 yds...

    Nosler Ballistic tips

I took a big bodied muley last week with a 300 winmag 165gr Baltip.I use 76gr of IMR 7828 chronied at 3050fps.Range was 100-150yds, complete pass through.Clipped shoulder blade on way in through bottom of spine and clipped shoulder blade on way out.I was expecting major meat damage,I was...
