After doing some research I have read of other having the same issue with barrel heat and point of impact shifts. It's a little frustrating I'm only shooting four shots then letting my barrel cool. I guess my next test is to shoot one at time with very long pauses in between and letting the...
Thanks for the feedback everyone.
It's just frustrating back in February my 300 Weatherby Mark V was shooting great. Went out again today. My rifle would shoot 2 out of 4 bullets good. But I keep getting some random flyers. I consider myself a good shooter. But I can't understand why I am...
I have the same rifle but 1/12 twist barrel. I found IMR 4064 to be the worst. So far I have tested IMR 4064, RL 15 and varget. Also, I saw tighter groups with 175 Berger than 168 Berger bullets. So far my best load is with varget and 175 Bergers.

Looking through my log book. In feb I was shooting about one moa at 200 yards. The last weekend at the range my groups opened up to about 3 moa. The only thing that was different was the temperature feb was a comfortable 75 degrees vs an extreme hot day of 95.
I was wondering if this was...
I was going to send my bolt out to get a Badger knob installed, but I found a few forums posts of people do it themselves. So I decide to give a shot. After I was done I was pretty impressed by my own work. The whole job took me about 2 and half hours. The only thing I have to finish is some...
Like the above posts. Now comes the fun part. Verifying the drop table. But keep in mind altitude, Baro pressure, temp and ect. will shift your point of impact. The tables I provided are defaulted to sea level. If you want pm me your email and I can send you the drop tables on picture format...
Your scope has the power but probably lacks a parallux adjustments. Your cross hairs are going to be all over place and your point of impacts are never going to be consistent. See the you tube link below. You can spend big money on optics. But if you want to get something good with out spending...
From the research I have done there is no difference. The short cut grains were designed to work with electronic feeders. Also, I believe on IMR website they claim both powder are the same recipe with the only difference being how the grains are cut.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I really appreciate it.
I know my chamber was clean before shooting. I wipe it dry every time before I go shooting by running a couple of dry patches in the chamber and barrel.
After spending some time researching the Internet and looking at other forums, I...
Edited.
I'm using 190 grain Berger VLD hunting bullets. My charge is in the middle of what the Berger loading book recommends. Also, my muzzle velocity is averaging about 2760 fps when using 74.5 grains of IMR 7828.
Have you guys ever seen this? Any idea what caused it? I was on the sixth reload with this case. The load I was using:
300 Weatherby
COL 3.710
190 VLD Berger hunting bullet
74.5 grains of IMR 7828
CCI large rifle mag. primer
One of the guys at the range said my load is under powered...
