It makes sence that there may be a couple sweet spots in a load range. One on the low end and one on the high end, where the bullet velocities and exiting the barrel meet up with the harmonics. I'm still happy with a .5" group from a 30-06sprg hunting rifle! Practical accuracy, I'm not going...
Thanks. I think I'll keep it at this sweet spot (54.5grn) though. I recently had back surgery and it's a lighter load, easier on my shoulder and back. Besides, it's shooting better than I had expected and I can still make improvements, I think this dog'll hunt!
I have a Lee Loader which only neck sizes cases, but I check everyu case with a dial caliper and have a hand case trimmer to keep stretch in check. The ones I'm having problems with trhe cases haven't been fired in my rifle yet, they're new. I loaded the old ones first in these same new cases...

I had some old Nosler Solidbase Ballistic tip Boattail .308dia 165grn bullets and loaded them for my 30-06sprg. They were outstanding bullets. I went to my local reloading supply store and picked up the modern packaged version of this bullet called Nosler Ballistic tip Boattail Spitzer .306dia...
Thanks. My next move is to work it down into .1grn sets from 44.1grn to 44.9grn and test that . Then switching to Federal brass, I know I'm gonna have to rework the powder a little. Then case length tweak and I think I'll leave it at that. my current group is more than sufficient to hunt with...

I have a Tikka T3 Light Stainless LH in 30-06 Sprg. I just started handloading and am working up a load in Nosler solid base ballistic tip boattail 165grn. Wondering if anyone else is handloading for their Tikka and what they've found to be the most accurate load?
