Love the 280 Rem, and all of the Ruger's I have owned over the years in various calibers have shot pretty well to very well, whether they were the Model 77, Mark II or Hawkeye. As suggested bedding (glass and/or pillar) is not a bad idea.

Are handloaders south of the border having a relatively easy time sourcing the Terminal Ascent bullets as components? Would like to learn of a source for the 6.5 130 gr, .277 136 gr, 7mm 155 and 170 gr bullets! And any successful recipes for the 6.5 PRC, 270 WSM, 280 Rem, and/or 7MM STW.

What is your load with this bullet for your 35 Rem?

Yes, a water jug test of your loads at the same distance(s) as you shot those two deer may reveal some interesting results! I too have the same bullets for loading in my wife’s 35 Rem.

I have always felt that the 140 gr bullet was a great performer in the 270 (Win, WSM and Wby). I have yet to try the new 136 gr Terminal Ascent bullet on game, but if it performs as the 130 gr version has in the 6.5 Creedmoor, I am sure it will rank right up there with my favourite AccuBond bullet!

As impressive as those bucks are, I would still prefer a wild 8 or 10 point buck. Hate to know what they charge for those deer!
