Nice!
I have only shot coyotes with my 22-250 and 243, in several cases they were DRT. I just loaded some 90g Absolute Hammers for my 25-06 to use on hogs.
Try switching powder.
I have the same rifle, Ruger American 243 Win. When I started reloading for it there were no Ballistic tips available, so I bought 100g btsp Interlocks and 95g SST. I started with StaBall 6.5 and the 100g btsp and had the same issue as you, Hodgdon's max of 42.0g=3085 fps...
I need to turn the necks on my 25-06 brass, Lapua 30-06 necked down, I have never turned necks in many years of reloading. I'm looking at buying a K&M Neck Turner, do I get one with a steel cutter or carbide cutter? Thanks
Happy Birthday and many more!
As an old cowboy told me on my 50th bday while we were hunting on horseback in the mountains "it's all down hill and shady from here,,,,,, both ways".
Come on buddy, not again!
I have a Rem 280 and love it, but I keep thinking I should make it an AI. You have AI brass and dies, in today's market that should make the decision easier. The good part is you can't make a bad decision.
I'm shooting Hammers in 5 different rifles and calibers, all shoot well and are easy to develop a load for. I just ordered some of the new HHT for my 25-06, if they don't work out I can always go back to the Absolute Hammers. The new HHT, tipped Hammers, are supposed to open up better at long...
Excellent, nice shooting!!!
I had the same thing happen about a month ago. She thanked me and my Tikka 22-250 with 63g Absolute Hammers. He was dead before he hit the ground.
