OK Nosler what is this about?????

Looks like a lead tipped bullet to me. If you pause it at the right spot I believe the text says “Nosler Triple Threat.” 🤷‍♂️

    Mixed powder

Good thinking. Me too. Not willing to risk vaporizing a favorite gun to save a few bucks.

Leupold let me down today ? But not Today 2

Not to hijack this thread but I’ve had good luck with the various set and forget Leupold scopes that I own. What are some brands that compare with say a VX-3i with similar quality of glass, eye relief, reticle choices, classic lines and weight, and $300-$500 price point? I like the Burris...

    Mixed powder

As long as it’s the same powder, you’ll be good to go. I am leery of buying open cans of powder as I have no idea what’s in them for sure. 🤷‍♂️

    .452 - Hornady 250gr XTP and 240gr XTP Mag (part 2)

The XTP is a darn good bullet in just about everything. I have tried 2 or 3 times to catch one from my Bisley .357. No luck. It has penetrated 4, 5, and 6 jugs from 15 yards. 😮

    Grouse Galore!

Grouse has always been the best eating of the game birds around here. But I shoot a lot of chukar and quail too! Good work Earle.

    357 Magnum revolver problems

Wow this is a real puzzler. Following with piqued interest.

    357 Magnum revolver problems

Enforcer basically is 2400, just a touch slower burning. Its what I use in my .357’s easily getting 1200 fps from 158 XTPs

    The Turdy-Turdy

I have an uncle who is more of a casual hunter these days but he and my aunt each have a Savage 340 in .30-30 for hunting deer and elk. They shoot factory 150 grain bullets and couldn’t be happier. Were I to get a .30-30 (or ‘when’ might be more apropos) I have always wanted a Marlin 1893 or...

    300WM and barrel length

I bobbed a 26” .300 Win Mag to 24” years ago. It was a model 70, and though not overly heavy, years of 24” barrel sporters in various calibers made it unwieldy to my hands. Sure I lost some velocity but was still able to get 3100 fps with 180 grain Accubonds and stout handloads. It shot best...

Sorry for your loss Don. And especially for your sister. You will see him again. I take a lot of comfort in that.

Favorite powders for 120 PT in 25-06?

For years I shot 120 grain bullets (factory and handloaded) for everything in my .25-06! They work marvelously for all around use. Curiosity and the acquisition of a .270 changed all of that for me. I have only been shooting bullets weighing 100 grains and lighter as the .257-120 grain bullets...

    It's the economy!

EVERYONE I know (everyone) is hurting right now. This whole year has been misery and woe. And there has been none to deliver. Oh God where art thou?

Favorite powders for 120 PT in 25-06?

4350 and Hunter have been the best performers for 115-120 grain bullets in the .25-06!

2 things you always carry in the woods

A gun, a knife, tp, and firestarter (matches or lighter) always accompany me to the woods.

.224 55 grain Sierra Gameking BTSP

Agreed. And they shoot super well!

    For you 30 cal fans

That’s another sad omission. I think the .30-06 and .270 have probably killed more game than many if not all of the other “chosen” calibers combined. 🤷‍♂️
