    Effectiveness of the 35 Remington.

I really screwed up. Several years ago Grandad had a Marlin with the waffle top receiver(before they were drilled and tapped for scope mounts) in a .35 Rem. I even killed deer with it. It had the 3/4 length magazine tube. I should have horse traded for it or bought it but I didn’t have...

165 Ballistic Tip vs. 165 Accubond

I think you’d be hard pressed to find much game that could stand up to either bullet in the’06. I started with 200 grain AB’s in my .300 WSM because I couldn’t find any 180’s. When I did I started loading those in my ‘06. I’ve since gone to the 180’s in the WSM and 165’s in the ‘06. I’m...

    Ruger No.1

I was fortunate on my first one. I attended an armorers class for the Ruger Mini-14 and received a certificate to buy any Ruger at a significantly reduced price. I chose the .30-06 and I think it was around $550. It was an accurate rifle and I took a Wyoming doe Antelope with it. I was in...

    Ruger No.1

I got lucky with mine. It will put 4 rounds of hand loaded 140 BT’s or Partitions under an inch at 100 so I was just tickled with that. Only fired once at an Antelope I took but I’d love to do some more hunting with it. When I went to Africa the 8 animals I took were all under 150 yards And...

Winchester 70 push feed ejection issue

Just thinking out loud, does the extractor have a spring? I would think it should, unless it’s based On tension. When the AR’s at work have had issues it’s usually been an extractor spring went bad or was weak.

    your 1st

Shooting a 140 BT out of it. I’d have to look at my book but I think 2625 fps sounds about right. Leupold 1-4x20 with a German no 1 reticle. Fitting for a Ruger No. 1…

    Just a buck.

Nice!!! Very cool to take your Dad’s gun out. Plus you put Some meat in the freezer! Making me a little jealous, may have to plan something for my .348 again.

    If you were gunna

Several years ago some local guys built some guns on Garands. The gunsmith passed away but my buddy was working with him and has a Garand in .458 Win Mag.

    More 348 work.

Got out to the garage. I measured 1/2 dozen and they were all at 1.030. Note the price you can barely make out at the nose of the bullet.

    If you were gunna

I think I’d take a .35 Whelen and neck it down to .30 cal shooting a 165 to 180 grain bullet. I think that would be just about the ticket for almost all North American big game…just a thought🤔🤔🤔

    300 WSM Quality Issues

Have you tried measuring the rest of the ammo in the box to see if it’s all a bit oversized?

    More 348 work.

I had to end my Montana trip a bit early when my back decided to go out so I’ve been shuffling around the house all week and haven’t made it out to the garage. I’ll have to get out there and measure them. I’m sure they’re the same length. Grandad had a .348 up in Alaska. He sold it to a...
