Yes, it is a stained birch stock. Certainly not top of the line, but quite sturdy and useable! Hawk

    QL request for .270 Win

I never would have imagined that the .270 could be within spitting distance of a magnum rifle round, but it is! When it can come within 36fps, it’s a lot faster than I expected. I know 150’s do an excellent job. Hawk

Thank you for the load recommendation. I greatly appreciate it. Somethings gnawing at me, about the 140’s. I’m not quite sold on them yet. I’m looking at the 150’s more right now. Hawk

No doubt! My better half doesn’t know even half about what I have! Yeah, between the .270, or .30-06, I think if I had to choose 2 rifles, they would be it. But I know I would probably use the .270 way more. Hawk

    The Boring 30-06

Hey Guy! I couldn’t help to notice, you said that the Ballistic Tips used to open extremely quick at one time. You’re very right! They used to, because the jackets were thinner than they are now. The cross sectional cut outs I’ve seen are more like the AB’s now. They have more copper in the...

    QL request for .270 Win

LOL Buddy sure is funny! I’m thinking if I use a 130gr AB, it might serve me very well, even on the big stuff, like elk, in a pinch. But, I know a 150 gr AB can serve double duty, and be a better suited bullet for elk, and moose, and not too heavy for deer. Can a 140 gr serve like a 165 gr...

I do like a really good cartridge that won’t kick me out from under my hat! Yeah, I’ve been reading a lot of different writers articles about the .270! I keep reading the 2 Guy posted! I do like them a lot! Hawk

Which bullet weight do you prefer? I’m thinking of 150gr, because Savages tend to like heavy for caliber bullets. Hawk

    Has Anyone Ever Wondered…

I did the same exact same thing back in the 80’s. The only difference was, at that time, I got the 7mm Rem Mag. Looking back, I didn’t need the Mag. I think the .270 would’ve suited me as well, if not better. I fully believe you what you said about the 140’s! Savage 110’s are just that amazing...
