    Hornady Bullets

I purchased these back in 2019 while in Colorado on vacation. Who knows how long they were on the shelf. Bullets were in card board box and sealed in plastic. I'd say they were packaged really good. The bullets didn't appear tarnished. But sticky and gooey. I don't know, maybe its something...

    Hornady Bullets

Thanks for the reply. Not a big deal to me. I'll just clean them, as I stated, then load some up then. Don

    Hornady Bullets

So I purchased a box of Hornady 200 grain Interlocks for the 35 Whelen while in Colorado a few years back. Yesterday I opened the box to load some up. I noticed all the bullets have this tacky grease all over them! Ran some through the media vibrator for 5-minutes and that cleaned them pretty...

    30-06 130 TTSX LOADS

I bought some Barnes 130 TTSX Bullets to tinker with then realized I'm very limited with the powders listed in the loading data and obviously none to be found to purchased. I do have IMR 4350, Hunter, RL22, and IMR 7828 SC powders on hand. Would any of these powders work? Anyone have load data...

    Action screw torque settings

Need some input here. I had my Rem 700 30-06 glass bedded, barrel free floated and pillars installed the other year. Gun has a Factory wood stock. The Smith had them torqued to 30"lbs. The POI was not so great. I then re-torqued them to 35" lbs, seemed to shoot better. When I referenced my notes...

Lube case necks before bullet seating?

I believe everyone has their personal preference when it comes to reloading. If it works, don't try to fix it then is my position. I've never lubed the necks prior to bullet seating and it's worked for me. I must add though, recently I pulled apart some 300 RUM loads, that are from 2013, with no...

Removing Redding imperial sizing die wax

Ronco, I use spray on brake cleaner from the auto parts store. I spray it on a cloth then wipe each case. It really cuts through the grease. I then put the cases in the media vibrator afterwards. To clean the dies I spray out the dies, wipe off with a rag, use long Q-tips to reach inside. Don

    30-06 & 180...

Hey Guy, I worked a load up using the 180 BT, H4350 and CCI250 primers. Had it clocked at 2788 fps with a 22" barrel. Shot a doe at 90 yds a few years ago. Shot was near the shoulder area. She hit the ground so fast, thought I missed her. I since loaded up the 180 CT Bullets but haven't had the...

Lube case necks before bullet seating?

Thanks Dr. Mike, I'm with you on this. Also, thanks to everyone that replied. It's been awhile since I have put some loads together. I'll not lube the necks prior to bullet seating then. Don

300 RUM 168 TTSX and Magnum Powder

Scotty, I remember a few years back, a gun shop here in Nashville, where a guy had the licensing rights to the 7.82 Lazzeroni Warbird rifle. He used 150 grain nickel coated bullets that I swear looked like a barnes TSX bullets. He told me the load was 3700 fps. He said it was one shot kills...

300 RUM 168 TTSX and Magnum Powder

Well, now that load is something right there! I've often wondered how a 168 copper bullet would perform in my 300 RUM. I'd be curious to see how it shoots 500-600 yards compared to a bullet with a higher B.C. I would think it will perform really well on Elk and Moose. Good shooting! Don

Lube case necks before bullet seating?

I apply imperial dry neck lube to the cases prior to FL resizing, place them in the media vibrator, then wipe them clean. Is it necessary to apply the dry neck lube again prior to bullet seating? Its something I've never done before. Thanks, Don

    Removing live primers

Thanks Guy, I value your opinion, as well as the others who replied. My view point is like yours Guy. Thanks for the heads up with the safety glasses too. I'm sitting around recovering from Hip Replacement Surgery. Getting bored so started going through all my stock pile of 300 RUM test loads...

    180 Hornady RN.

ShadeTree, I used the 180 Hornady RN for about 10-years, out of my 30-06, hunting in Pennsylvania. I can tell you I took a lot of deer during that time period. 99% of the time it was 1-shot kills. Shots were never beyond 100 yds. It never failed to perform for me. Don

    Removing live primers

Thanks Jim, They aren't crimped. These are 300 RUM (Remington cases) with Remington 9-1/2 primers. I'll give the resizing die method a try. Don
