Yeah, the more I have read about it convinces me I'm shooting the right bullet with the 200 AB.
I do agree with Dr. Mike stating, as more info is fed back to Hornady from the hunting community they will make some adjustments in the offering. I've shot Hornady's in the past they are a good...
I'm with you Fotis, I have a great load currently for my 300 RUM using the 200 AB, thanks to you buddy!! I was just curious at the new offering. Heck I think our ABLR Bullet is terrific but I'm more than satisfied with my load going 3050 fps.
I will check the bullet section out. Yeah I was...
I'm waiting on results on my Colorado Elk tag. Not due till June 1st. Applied for a cow tag. If not drawn I may just get across counter bull tag then. Yes the waiting game is on!!

Anyone loaded this bullet up in a 300 RUM yet or 30-06?? I believe it's Hornady's answer to our Accubond LR bullet near I can tell. Curious what the forum members think of it.

When I had a Rem 7 mag my load was with Hornady 154 bullets, IMR-4350, Win cases and Fed 215 primers. Had excellent results back then with that powder.

With 61.0 grains of RL-22 in my 30-06 22" barrel. I was only getting 2670 or so.That was with a 180 BT too. more barrel does afford a little more velocity.

Okay everyone,
I got the Burris E1 mounted on the 30-06 and ready to go. Now to get to the range this week to try her out on paper. I must admit I am impressed with the clarity this scope has. I absolutely love the ballistic plex reticle too. 8) Eye relief is good and I'm guessing close to 3.5"...
I've hunted geese extensively in the past using Rem 1100 12 ga. Modified choke. Killed geese over decoys out to 50 yards with Federal 3" BB and BBB. After moving to Colorado I found Remington Nitro Steel in 3" BB to be superior to the latter mentioned. It just brought the hammer down on those...
JD,
I will do that. Going to sell a VX1 3 x 9 x 40 soon to help off set the new scope price. I have the C4 Burris on the 300 RUM for the time being till I get the cash to get what I really want.
So far the C4 is doing pretty good actually. That's the reason I thought I'd try this E1 for local...
Just ordered the Burris today. Cabela's has it on sale for 244.55. Had some gift cards to burn on it so figured the buy was a good one. I have a VX1 3 x 9 x 40 I'm going to post for sale soon that's in excellent condition that will help pay off this purchase.
I got this scope to hunt deer with...
I'm looking to purchase a rifle scope for my 30-06 for Deer Hunting here in Tennessee.
I'm between the Vortex Diamondback HP 1" in 4.5-14 x 42 vs Burris FF II E1 in the same power range etc.
I like the Vortex but the E1 Burris looks good to me too.
Input please, experience if you have these...
I tried that combo in my 30-06 Rem 700 22" barrel. I can tell you RL-22 is not the powder for my gun the groups were not that good. BUT there was promise with H4350.
Don
yep those longer powder columns in the mag calibers tend to heat up the barrels. Having owned a 7-mag at one time mine did also truck driver, even more so since I own a 300 RUM.
Don
This thread is very interesting to me. I have found with my 300 RUM I get better results with 1x fired casings verses new brass, even though I full length re-size. trim etc and deburr the primer pockets and trim to length as needed for both. The outcome is always the same.
Don
I can't tell you the times I have seen guys at the rifle range shooting similar to your set up.
The results were the same. I then would see them keep adjusting their scope settings burning up the ammo, you could most likely fry eggs on the barrel too!
You have been given...
