So I bought 2-boxes of these to load up in the 30-06. 8) Anyone see any difference in these compared to the regular BT ?
Is there any gain in velocity, groups sizes or cleaner bore?
Thanks,
Don
My Dad always shot the Rem 200 factory ammo in this gun. That bullet did very well for him. Most of his shots were 50-80 yards in the Pennsylvania woods. In speaking with him the other day, he couldn't recall any deer running away, mostly dropped on the spot.

I know there has been some discussions on here with the Whelen and 200 AB in the past. I'm interested in giving this a try for Whitetails here in Tennessee.
My gun is a Rem 700 Classic
22" barrel 1-16 twist
Current reloads are with Rem Brass
Can anyone share their load data and real experience...
Scotty,
I found my load notes when testing 180 E-tips in the 300 RUM back in 2011.
Remington 700 BDL 26" Ported Shall Barrel
1x fired Rem Cases full length resized
215 Mag Primers
180- E-Tip
95.0 RL 25
3309 fps
Bullet seated out almost length of magazine
Same as above with different powder...
I tried the Nosler Brass a few years back when testing some loads. I learned it is soft. Went back to Remington Brass.
So what's the verdict on the Hornady brass, anyone try it in the 300 RUM?
My other concern with changing brass is case volume. I would imagine I'd have to start and work up...
When you have to make a switch from using Remington brass what have some of you done? Considering the choices of other brass manufacturers which one did you go with and what are some of your opinions and experiences?
I've always used Remington brass but see the pricing is up and availability is...
It's so incredibly fun to shoot long range. I enjoy shooting mine better than my 30-06 from the bench! 8) and I really like my 30-06!
Given you have the time, it's fun messing around with all the horsepower the 300 RUM brings. 8)

Scotty,
I've experienced the same thing Bill stated. I had ejector marks trying Nosler brass as it is to soft compared to Remington. I also had higher pressure messing around with Retumbo, especially in warm temperatures. Shot excellent groups had the best velocity too. I found RL25, at least...
Scotty,
I have a 300 RUM 700 BDL with a 26" Shall Barrel that is magnaported. I've shot Retumbo, RL33, RL25, H1000 and IMR 7828 out of mine using the 200 AB. I use Remington cases with 215 mag primers.
Fotis gave me the recipe I'm currently using. 91.5 RL25 gets me 3050-3100 fps. RL33 I found...
Well, it stinks when we have situations that are similar. BUT!For now I'm going to head to the hunt lease soon to look over some areas, maybe relocate a few stands, trim out some shooting alleys,
buy some more trail cams, work on some loads for the 30-06 etc.
You know, all the off season stuff...
Hey Dan,
We have had some food plots in past years, nothing done in the last two years though. I just contacted the manager of our lease stating I'd throw in some money for seed, gas or whatever if he would consider it for next season. Otherwise I'm thinking of renting a rototiller and puting...
Update on my season.
Today was the last day for me to hunt as the Special 5-day Antlerless Only Season ends tomorrow.
I actually saw 3-Doe today but couldn't get a clear shot and that's how it goes sometimes. Anyway,
I did hunt 11-days this season, I'm grateful that I could.
Time to put away...
Looks as if this Wed. and Thursday I will get back out there. Anything is possible. I enjoy being out hunting, the experiences along the way are good therapy for the mind and soul.
It's why we call it hunting and not shooting!

This particular Deer Season has been very different for me. To start off 2018 here in Tennessee had done nothing but RAIN it seems at least 4-days per week, continuing that pattern into the hunting season with windy conditions. Secondly I'm a member of a 1400 acre hunting lease that has NO...
