Got word back from Vortex, install high rings. So I go buy some, take the current rings off and notice a huge difference between the 2 ring sets. Silly me, the current rings were low ones. Fortunately, I had a set of medium rings here....
New scope w/medium rings is on and all...
Putting a Vortex Diamondback 4-16x42 on my Rem 700 in 243. I have medium Leupold standard bases on it and the objective has plenty of clearance, but there is what looks like a set screw under the eye piece that sticks down far enough to keep the bolt from closing. I was either thinking of filing...
The people are dangerous......There was a report last year of a Yellowstone Park tourist who saw a calf bison by itself and thought it was cold, so he loaded it up in his hatchback type SUV and took it to the Park Rangers.....The rangers tried to get it back to the herd, but none of the cows...
True, the 26 - 33 Nosler calibers are based off the 404 Jeffrey case, the same case the Rem Ultramags are based off of. Those Nosler calibers are just a bit shorter that the RUMs
Here's my first Nosler M48. The Heritage model in 26 Nosler wearing a Leupold VX-5HD 3-15x44 CDS-ZL2. Going to try Nosler Trophy ammo using 140AB & 142ABLR
I worked at the Ammon, Idaho Cacela's for over 2 years and can say that is NOT their policy and that Outfitter was WRONG!!!! If any of you encounter what you consider poor customer service, ask to speak with a manager ASAP. If the manager doesn't take care of you, call and file a complaint with...
Thinking of getting one as Cabela's has them on sale. Other than shelling out that kind of $$$$$, anyone have a reason I shouldn't? They have the Western on sale to, but $425 more, shorter barrel and so on.
Ordered one with the G4 BDC reticle. It'll be replacing a Nikon Monarch UCC 5.5-16.5X44 that's been on my 300RUM for 11 years. Decided it was time when on my last night chasing Muley's, my Razor HD 10-42 binos could see animals, checking for head gear, far better than my scope could at the same...
I start out with .020 off the lands or what will function through the magazine. After finding what powder & charge works the best, I start seating the bullet .005 deeper and see if the groups can be improved upon.
I strictly use Fed GM205M, 210M, and 215M primers for my rifles. Fortunately, I stocked up on them before they became extremely hard to get. I'm sitting on about 4K or more of each.
I went the easy route. I went to Sam's Club and bought their heavy duty table. It comes with a 2" thick hard wood top and adjustable foot pads. I believe it goes for $200. It's working out really well. I have a Mec shotshell loader mounting plate, Forster Co-Ax press, Lee turret press and a...
Just an FYI, if you're looking at cooler for this fall, check out the Cabela's Polar Cap coolers. They cost less than Yetis and, are roughly the same size. Now the big differences are, the Polar Cap has a higher insulation rating, an R12 vs. Yetis R10, the Polar Caps are guaranteed FOR LIFE!
Your right, the difference is the stock and the finish. I have two SPS' (7mmRUM & 243 WIn) both have received thumb-hole laminate stocks and are very accurate.
