    Runout on 6.5 Creedmoor necks

The bushing should be loose/floating when you lockdown the adjustments. Can you hear the bushing move freely when you shake the die? FWIW - the etched numbers on the bushing should always face down.

    Garmin Chronograph

Quite a few guys have gone the Evergreen route. Even though it's a tad bulkier than needed, it's wayyyyyyyyy smaller than the Apache case for my LabRadar. LOL

Scored with the 450 Marlin Encore

That Encore looks like "serious business". LOL I had one in 444 which shot great but it was a handful. :D

Haven't hunted in a couple of years, but I'm going this year.

One of my favorite deer loads used the 160AB in a 7WSM at just over 3,000fps. Easy to load, accurate and deadly. It dispatched whitetails quickly. Most of them only went 18", straight down. Good luck with your return to the fields.

    Leupold bases

I haven't seen a set of bases with the windage adjustable rear in quite some time. They were recognized as a weak link in the system a long time ago. I think that is what started the double dovetail set's popularity. Today, I put a Murphy Precision rail on all of my rifles. I use different rings...

    Garmin Chronograph

I used an Oehler 35P for many years. I gave it up when the LabRadar came out. What a relief to not have to set up sky screens and get them aligned while holding up the firing line. The LabRadar made life much easier.

    Garmin Chronograph

I should add that I also bought a rigid, waterproof box to hold the little Garmin & tripod. The box was just about perfect and the price was right ($29) at Amazon. Evergreen 56 Waterproof Dry Box Protective Case with Pick & Pluck Foam - Travel Safe/Mil Spec/USA Made - for Cameras, Phones...

    Garmin Chronograph

I shot over my new Garmin Xero today. It was easy to carry such a small unit, easy to just point down range, easy to figure out the buttons and never missed a shot despite the fact that I put it 24" behind the muzzle. The little unit sat one foot in front of me, so it was east to read the...

    .308 Winchester Reloads

I've had very good luck with the Sierra 168TMK in my .308. It will shoot the same size groups with Varget or RE15 with the same charge of 44.0gr.

    50 pounds down!

Congrats on improving your health and extending your life. My buddy lost a ton of weight recently. When I asked him what his secret was, he said he ate everything that he did before but he cut his portions in half and moved away from the table. He did add that he obviously gave up Italian...

Test the twist for yourself. Claimed twist can be off a bit or incorrect all together. My 9 twist Savage is actually an 8.5" twist.

    Scope Mounting Questions

IMO you can't beat a high-quality pic rail (like Murphy Precision) and a robust set of rings. Murphy produces bases for just about every receiver and they make them in various metals & finishes and they are available in 0-moa-10moa-20moa. Burris has a set of tactical rings with inserts that...

DUDE!!!! Have you seen any does around?????

On opening morning of the PA whitetail season, my buddy got disoriented as he looked around for his stand in a heavy fog. He decided to sit against the base of a tree and wait for the fog to lift. While waiting for the fog he could hear a deer walking up from behind the tree. The 8 point buck...

    Lapping Scope Rings

You only have to lap one set of rings to see that there are high spots and low spots that would cause tight & loose spots when they are torqued down. I've done a few but prefer Burris Signature rings on a pic base for most of my rifles. I have not experienced any scope slippage on the big...

Woah - that's a beautiful buck - nice job! Did you recover the bullet? LMAO

The 450 gettin ready for this year

That's rather impressive. What load are you using? I shoot the 300 grainers at about 2,000 fps (18.5"bbl) with some room to spare but not 400 fps. :D LOL
