I shot a very similar Encore pistol in 444 Marlin. What a blast to shoot. All my buddies loved to shoot it. We put a spackle pail cover on a berm at 200yds and blasted it all afternoon.
Good luck on your deer hunt.
I put a 250gr Accubond through both shoulders of a large bull moose at 55yds. The bull flipped over backwards and never even twitched after that. The bullet busted completely through the shoulders and was caught in the hide on the off-side. The recovered bullet weighed 140gr, which I thought was...
She did a rather good job of matching the camo.
We always joke about how the camo is more to impress each other than it is for effective hunting. I hunt out of box blinds in NC and SC. My buddy asks why I wear all that expensive camo. I tell him it's just for the photos and that I remove it in...
If there are any ideas floating around that will make life more difficult for shooters and hunters; NY will adopt them! I think the new background checks for ammo purchases start next week.
I've been shooting the 130TTSX with Benchmark @ 3,130fps for a few years. That load pole axed a nice NC 8pt buck a few years back. Shot in the brisket while it walked in my direction, from about 200yds (IIRC), the deer looked like it was slammed to the ground. The buck never even twitched after...
I've got both and have used both extensively. If you're shooting under 400yds, the B&C is much faster and very reliable. I don't worry about matching the drop exactly. I use the 400yd reticle and zero it dead on at 400yds. If you check the 200yd & 300yd crosshairs they are never off enough to...
It's surprising what you're willing to do when you get desperate. I drove from NY to Conn to get 2,000 Fed 210M primers which were over $100/brick. Add in the gas, tolls and lunch for my buddy who joined me and you're looking at some expensive shooting. LOL
You've got to switch over to cartridges that can use a SRP case. There are plenty of SR primers around. CCI450 are readily available and I use them for my 6.5Creed and 6mmBR. Guys are also switching their .308Win over to SRP brass.
It's not the answer but it's sure better than not shooting...
There's plenty of primers available at Natchez and several other major internet retailers. They may not have exactly what you want, but primers are showing up in quantity. Large Rifle primers seem to come & go quickly.

I agree with you about what the FBI may know about my firearm related purchases. I'm not the guy that they need to worry about and really have nothing to hide. However, it's not my bank's role to divulge my personal information to any governmental institution unless there is an official inquiry...
I've shot a load of 160 Accubonds between 3,000-3,200 fps from a custom 7WSM. Terminal performance of the bullet was always great. They may not have the highest BC but they are a very reliable bullet for hunting and it's easy to find a good load with them.
Just my 2 cents.
I run a high grade hepa filter in the house and have for the last 3 years or so. I just like clean air that is free from as much pollution as possible. Two years ago I bought units for both of my kids, who have kids of their own, and a unit for my mother-in-law's house too. With all this smoke...
I would assume that all major retailers, especially a firearm retailer, would have cameras all over the place. I'd also assume that a giant like Cabelas would have all sorts of theft detection systems and personnel in place. A retailer can't survive without them. Like I said, "something is odd...
That whole story seems a little odd to me. Did it actually take a full year for Cabelas to realize that 99% of their ammo was being stolen? Why would any retailer leave small, high dollar merchandise out in the open? The CVS near me even locks up the Tylenol, and I live in a good neighborhood...
I use the latest editions of the Nosler and Hornady books for quick reference at the loading bench. I've got several other reloading manuals but the Nosler & Hornady get referred to the most.
Older editions of the manuals get handed down to newer relaoders.
