    Quickload StaBall 6.5 for 270Win

Dan I’ve got 130gr Hot Cor’s, SST’s, BT’s, and even a few hundred Federal Power Shock bullets i bought from Grafs. I could send some if you wanted to try and find a combo it likes.

Reloader 16 and 23 at Natchezss

I have heartburn paying north of $50 a pound for anything but Vihtavouri 500 series powders. With Vihtavouri you get what you pay for, with some others you pay for whatever they decide to bless us with. EDIT: RL powders are great powders, I use and love many(22,23,25,26). They are however NOT in...

    Quickload StaBall 6.5 for 270Win

It was a very easy powder to work with. Flows like water, didn’t seem spikey, great velocity, and finding an accurate load was very easy with no fuss. Tightest group with the charge my rifle likes at .030” off the lands and I was done. Clean burning and recoiled seemed a little less compared to...

    Accubond Penetration

Anything mechanically manufactured has the possibility of having a flaw. Anything assembled by human hands to be more exact I think. I would think that the guide or guides are probably drawing on a single experience with regards to rear core separation of a Partition. Maybe two, but not...

    Quickload StaBall 6.5 for 270Win

Staball 6.5 is my powder choice for 130gr Partition loads in my 270 Win. With a 24” barrel 57.1 grains SB 6.5, 130 grain partition, CCI200 primer gives great accuracy and 3130 fps. It’s not giving any pressure indications but I don’t have a need to push it faster.

    Accubond Penetration

I’m no doubt in the minority here (probably the only one) but I’ve never used the AccuBond. I’ve used Partitions and BT’s since the 80’s, with a few E-Tips recently. I don’t have a reason for this, it’s simply how things played out with what I’ve had on hand. I’ll say that E-Tips in 223 Rem and...

What are you all paying for SR primers?

$90 per 1000 for Rem 7 1/2. They supposedly have the highest brisance of all SR primers. My second preference is Winchester SR primers also at $90 per 1000 at my preferred local shop. LR/LRM are essentially the same price there as well At $104. I’ve been going to see them for over 30 years...

    Magnum vs standard rifle primer

Magnum primers help when using slow/ball powders, and in cold weather. If it were me I wouldn’t sweat using a standard primer in your 300WSM with most powders. It has a relatively short powder column. I use CCI200’s in a 7mm Rem Mag load using IMR4831 and 140gr BT’s. No pressure or ignition...

    308 Win Load Development

Thank you Guy. To be completely honest I’ve never taken this load hunting. Seems that I always end up taking my 150gr Partition load when it comes time to go. Old habits die hard I suppose. I really enjoy this rifle a lot. It’s hard to beat a good 308 Winchester. Been carrying one ever since the...

    308 Win Load Development

The loads are a little below the Hodgdon max and give no pressure indications at all. I attribute the velocity to the tight chamber and a great high energy powder. It’s no slouch when it comes to accuracy either.

    308 Win Load Development

I have a load that will allow my 308 Win to punch above its weight class somewhat. It’s the 150gr E-Tip over 50.5 grains of CFE223, CCI 200 primer, Federal brass with an OAL of 2.750”. It gives an average of 2949 fps and groups consistently under 1”. Nice rounded primers and the rifle Has a...

    H4895

You know it just might at that. Staball HD is a little slower than RL26, but you may be onto something. I have 5lbs of Staball HD and 11lbs of Staball 6.5. The 6.5 actually gives the velocity that RL26 does in my 270 Win. I just haven’t spent the time working with SB 6.5 like I have RL26. I have...

    H4895

I’m down to 3 1/2 lbs of it myself. I only use it in E-Tip loads for my 270 Win. Very accurate and almost 3200 fps. Unicorn dust plain and simple. Lol

    First 450 Bushmaster Loads

As for The seating stem, Redding is sending the correct one. It ended up with a 45-70 stem (#5) instead of the one for 450 BM (#36).

    First 450 Bushmaster Loads

I’m using Redding dies, and a Frankford Arsenal coaxial M-press. There is no shell holder for it. It locks the base of any case into the press. I love this coaxial press BTW. If I were using my Lee press I’d use the standard Redding #1 shell holder and dies.

    First 450 Bushmaster Loads

It’s a factory stock Ruger MPR 450 Bushmaster. It has a nitrided 1:16 5r rifled barrel that’s 18.6” in length. It’s new and only has 30 rounds fired but seems to want to shoot.

    First 450 Bushmaster Loads

Well, the 43 grain load of H4198 is the most consistent load. Extremely consistent actually. I didn’t shoot long shot strings because I don’t like my Magnetospeed to get beat up from the muzzle brake. It probably doesn’t hurt it but I only use it with a brake when necessary. They all shot well...

    First 450 Bushmaster Loads

I would have tried them, just can’t find them. I really wanted to give the 200gr XPB a go, but again I can’t find them. I think it would be great for deer and black bear.

    First 450 Bushmaster Loads

The Scout V2’s shoot exceptionally well. I had one in 45-70 that would shoot a ragged hole. I wish I hadn’t sold it. From the information I’ve found, the 300gr XTP Mag looks like it’s a really tough bullet. Much tougher than the 300gr Interlock HP I load for my 45-70. I just want it to be...

    338 rpm

Fotis, I’m going to send you all my rifles so you can work up loads for them. I’ve never seen anyone get the consistently amazing results that you get. You’re in a league of your own when it comes to hand loading. Wow
