Truthfully I don’t see much difference from lot to lot, and probably not a good enough shooter to see the difference. The manufacturers have a pretty good handle on things and for the most part consistent from lot to lot. I guess it just makes me feel better knowing there won’t be any...
I fell in love with RL26 in my 270 Win shooting 130gr E-Tips. I have 4 lbs left and don’t think I’ll be buying anymore. Supply has been non-existent, and the price for Alliant powder is just too high.
I‘m not saying this is the case with all RL26 loads, but I get better accuracy and the same...
The Cabela’s here near me will have items from other Cabela’s and Bass Pro Shops sent to them. They had some primers and powder sent from the Triadelphia WV Cabela’s a couple months ago. They didn’t even charge hazmat. Maybe see if they can find Hunter at another store.
The results you’ve attained is impressive to say the least. The amount of research and testing is above and beyond what most would invest. I will also say that this load data and results is specific to your action, barrel, brass, and other components ONLY. I also agree that it would probably be...
I’m not quite to that point but I’d say somewhere between 120-135. I’d like to see H4198 come back around. I’ve still got 5-6 lbs of it, and 8lbs of IMR 4198. It’s 6 one way, and half a dozen the other I guess.
OMG! I didn't know percussion caps were going that high. I have plenty of caps squirreled away. I only use real black powder and I doubt I’ll ever have to buy another cap or pound of BP in my lifetime.
I think this is precisely what they are doing. I would do the same thing. I’d use my best components in the ammo I put my name on. Their quality on brass will return but the question is when.
The new Winchester brass I have tried To use lately (and that was the last bag I had) has been sub-par to put it nicely. I don’t mind a neck being out of round because I size first regardless, but many of the cartridge heads wouldn’t fit in a Lee or Redding shell holder because it was oblong and...
Welcome, there are some really good people and great friends here.
Try a Nosler, Barnes, Hornady, or whatever manufacture you choose mono in the 140-150 neighborhood, and load it as fast as your rifle will safely push them. Penetration, shock, and blood trail whether you’re on bone, broadside...
I have their M-Press Coaxial and don’t have anything bad to say about it. Very smooth and tight tolerances. The F1 looks like they share some design features. I think you’d be satisfied.
Meanwhile, Hunter Biden can snort up half of Peru in The Whitehouse but legal firearm owners are singled out, privacy is violated, we are harassed, and we are the danger.
Lord Acton writes to Bishop Creighton, 1887
“Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men, even when they exercise influence and not authority; still more when you superadd the tendency of the certainty of corruption by authority.”...
For PS, I think the 160’s will do fine. I have two 7mm RM’s with 1:8 barrels and both put 160 grain Partitions and HotCor’s under 1” at 100 yards. They also put 175 grain ELD-X’s under 1/2”.
You’re not giving anything up at all with a 1:8 twist rate. A fast twist tends to give better expansion...
I like LRT in my 7RM with 175 gr ELD-X’s. I’m getting 2989 fps from it at 2.5ish grains under where I start to get resistance opening the bolt. No ejector marks or sticky bolt where I’m at. I really hope it’s got good temp characteristics for ball powder, like Magnum. I’m still going to use it...
I’ve had as good an experience with them as RCBS, maybe better. I have an Intelidropper and love it. A bearing on the dispenser tube started seizing and they send me a new unit no questions asked. I haven’t used the case prep center but plan on getting one.
