Amen to that! Thank you for all you who have served. Got all my aches and pains from injuries while I was an athlete in my youth having fun. I have all kinds of issues mainly degenerative disc disease at 65 I finally gave up running. Now I bicycle. I don’t feel proud for what I sacrificed but...
There are two ways to look at aging, First you can compare it to your limitations when you were twenty. From here you become grumpy old man. Why because you are pissed. I know I am.
Or you can say, yeah everything hurts and admit I can not do this or that , but who cares what matters is what...
I have three hunting rifle rigs. A standard Rem 700 SPS SS in 270 win with 24” 1 x10 twist Hogue stock. shoots everything from 100 to 150 grain very versatile for a wide variety of game but limiting in range for larger game. Y
Then I built a Rem 700 build with a 270 win with a 26’ Sendero...

i have 8 AR’s. Three in 556, one in 264 LBC, and then two AR10’s in 308 win. The 556’s are set up as a short 16” very light furniture sled defense rifle, one 18” bull and one 20” bull. The 16” is a 1 plus moa rifle, both the 18 and 20” are 3/4 or better depending on ammo. All of these are. 1...

This is my second 700 Hunter. I really like the stock, its completed adjustable and it shoots great out my custom 270 win build.

I am not a reloading expert but from experience the body of what you are saying is true. With reloading for my 270 win with a 1 x 8 twist barrel loading the Berger 170 gr to start 20 thousands of lands stretched the load from a Sammi COl of 3.34 to 3.495 I have founds that pressure and...
I myself would not hunt out past 600 yds but at 600 the 170 gr Berger Elite Hunter would best the ABLR with 1,774 ft lbs versus 1,633 ft lbs left at 600 yds. I believe the ABLR to be a better bullet though, but either round placed right would do the job. If accurracy were comparable I would go...
Yep the 265 starting at just around 2,800 should have 2,000 ft lbs out to 800 yds. The 270 with the 170 Berger Elite is no slouch either launching at 2,950 it has just shy of 2,000 ft lbs at 500 yds and 1,300 plus ft pds at 1,000 yds. Can't wait to get my load workups for both these guns...
So I am a not a follower. I have always wanted to buck the system. Just how I operate. Warning it can be anoying. Any hoot just finished up a custom 270 win build. I have had two 270's for years mainly hunting. I just alway hear how the 270 is not an extreme long range caliner. To me I think "no...
Yes the 170 will stabilize but not I optimum so slight wobble will cause a decrease in the BC. If you were over 2,500 ft you would be good for sure. I have tried 165 matrix. These should stabilized in the 1 x 9 twist. I'll let you know how 150 ABLR do in my next round of testing would be nice...
