    New Varmageddon Commercial Sneak Peek

Just an update, and a late one at that. Two weeks ago at a gravel pit we shoot at, I watched my son's freind shoot 5 round sub moa group at 300 yds. Had it not been for the 5th shot being pulled, 4 measuring just over an inch out his AR in a 15 mph cross. I didn't think that goofball could...

    .30-30 ammo question

Note, take that few years with a rain of salt, it is likely the developments have been going on for some time. But metallurgy isn't my strong suit either Charlie. I find it fascinating to read about it from those guys that do, and how it all pertains or apply to their own cast, and whys and...

    Whelen owners motto?

I know how it can be Mike. I was only there two years during my youth, as my dad took a work postion at Saskatoon. My sis-in-law still chuckles when I use some canuk grammer, I haven't seemed to let go of.

Why no love for Hybrid 100 V?

Yep Brian,,,,,I'm torn right now with the decission of my 5th powder, between Varget and RL-15. Either works well with my all my load applications. The RL-15 shoots better with cast in the .375JDJ, so I'm leaning that way.

    Bullet Stability, or Lack Thereof

No doubt you have brought valid points Charlie. And truthfully I don't get nervous about coriolis much, I just know its there, and something to consider at extreme range with cold shots. I don't think much on it out to a 1000. I always paid more attention to the wind changes at various ranges to...

Why no love for Hybrid 100 V?

Ain't that the truth! And while all these reports sound very interesting, I been trying to get my inventory down to the 5 main powder's I use. I wouldn't mine trying where I use H-4350, but not sure the funds wouldn't better served in larger containers of what I am familiar with. The H100V sure...

    .338 Win Mag for Moose

I'm in the 225 PT or 250 AB camp. Know each rifle has it's own likes, I'l start with the slowest powder listed in the manual, as I prefer higher load densities. Just beeter luck with that.

    Whelen owners motto?

That is so true on all Charlie. I truely enjoy the ladies input here, in any aspect. The family here wouldn't be complete without them.

    Bullet Stability, or Lack Thereof

It is small indeed but not therory, it's physics in action. At a 1000+ yds., every .01(s) moa makes a big difference between a hit or miss pending size of target. At extreme range, one also has to account for the Earth's rotation, which of course, is dependent on the shooters location in...

    .30-30 ammo question

Cool Paul! My cousin has one in very very good condition, I been trying to talk him out of for years,,it ain't been working so well for me as one might imagine. Can't blame him though, as it was his grandfather's from 1914, and it never had blackpowder through it as far as his grandfather said...

    .30-30 ammo question

I know you do Charlie, I was just throwing it out there for those interested. Your post just was a convienent oppritunity, as Paul beat me to it with his post. And no reflection to your knowledge meant. Sorry, I could have been more concise on that point. Just of late (last few years ?)...

    .30-30 ammo question

And yet Charlie, the old technology of cast bullets is still undergoing evolution with todays knowledge in metalurgy, making for more than one way to skin the cat. It's darn near an art.

:x Indeed Randy, I'd really enjoy a face to face with those. It's sad to see how the anonymity of a computer keyboard brings out the true colors of AH's

    Whelen owners motto?

"My motto is so many calibers & so little time" Ain't that the truth. "Dave when are you going to come back to God's country." There's is some wonderful country up there without a doubt Dan. I truely had some great times north of Prince Albert fishing at Lake Besnard and had the oppritunity...

    Bullet Stability, or Lack Thereof

If you are fairly over stabilized or more to begin with, you won't notice the rpm erosion/degradation until likely a 1000 yds. give or take, depending. Or shooting a bullet that is real close to a GSF of 1 or slightly over, at shorter ranges. The Match/LR barrels all the Pro Comp guys I know, as...
