I am curious has anyone used the ballistic tip hunting bullets for elk? I shoot mainly accubond and some partition but have never ventured into BTs for hunting

I just picked up a Tikka t3 in 7-08. Never loaded for this cartridge before so any guidance towards pet loads would be great. I thinking 140 gr bullets. This rifle will be used for my wife's elk rifle once a year.

Light rifles im 300 rum hurt. Plain and simple. Muzzle break is necessary. I did just have an opportunity to buy a rem 700 long range in 300 rum brand new but passed because of the weight of it. 14 lbs unscoped!

I started with new Norma brass this round. Last time as well. I gave up after about 5 loads out of them. Started using that brass for my 140 ab loads and they are still holding up after about another 5 firings. Primer pockets are still holding tight.

Haven't tried any of the eld-x. But mine loves 200 gr accubond and 210 ablr. I'm torn on the eld-x. I feel as though it may be a sales gimmick ( yes they have research that shows other wise) but if this melting tip issue was a problem don't you think that partitions and other lead tipped Spitzer...

I have a bag of 7mm 150gr ballistic tips with brown tips and the other 3 bags are red

It's been a long time since I have been here. But I'm running magpro behind a 140 ABC in my 270 with outstanding performance. 62.5 gr at 2940. Zero pressure. This load is above book max so work up safely

Longshot. I have switched all my loads for 9mm ,40s&w, and 45acp. 40 s&w cab near 10mm speeds with it if you are careful working up. 45acp can do some amazing things with long shot.

+1 rl 19 worked very well in my 30-06 with the 165 ab and partition. Rl22 gave me good accuracy but was not near as high velocity as 19. Rl19 also gave tighter groups. I don't have my info with me but I believe I was around 61 or 62gr of rl19 with the 165ab and running about 2870 with a22" barrel
