If it were me I'd be retesting the. 350 and the .360 loads at longer range.
I take horizontal dispersion over vertical.
I don't think you have enough to go on yet....and I think the vertical may play out worse at longer range.
Might not be that way but worth finding out.
From their website...
IF THERE IS ANY COLOR ON THE PATCH: Apply the Wipe-Out ™ again to the barrel. If the first patch showed all three colors, the gun is heavily fouled. Let the gun set for 60 minutes or more, overnight is best. Wipe-Out ™ will continue to work for 24 to 36 hours. Wipe-Out...
Looks interesting and priced right but after watching the vid the plastic sleeve and shoulder bushing look a little "cheesey".
I'm pretty fussy about a real clean and smooth case mouth. I'll be sold if i hear the cut quality is first rate....if its only about saving a second or two per shell...
Nydan...in 20 yrs of reloading I've never lubed the outside of necks with no consequence.
That's the beauty of a lube pad...the neck doesn't get lubed.
Seems to me most reloading sources say not to lube neck/shoulder to avoid hydraulic denting of the shoulder area.
Guessing your doing a thin...
I wipe off the outside of the case neck before sizing w/a wet paper towel...otherwise it seems eventually it gets into some of the normal case lube and I get some greasy black gunk on shells coming out of the die.
Just dip into the ceramic balls a couple times w/one hand.....wipe outside neck...
Been using it for the last 2 years w/the ceramic ball applicator. .Just sized up a batch of 20 270 win with ordinary rcbs dies.I use a shaved lee shellholder for no toggle over for perfect head space control.I've done a little tuning on the expander to make sure its centered in the die. Slowly...
Any chance in heck that hunter and hogdon superformance might be one and the same?
I just picked up a can of superper and the is terrifically limited data...but what there is sure seems to be a twin to hunter data over at ramshot.
The 154 hornady is a go to bullet for me in any 7mm that gives accuracy trouble. I don't know why but it shoots great in everything I've tried it in.
I've never tackled elk but a buddy used my reloads on a couple. They got dead but from why I saw of recovered bullets I'd sure stay away from...
Hey muleman...would you care to share that load on the 70 grainers...I have some here and they shoot pretty good in my 26" ruger varmiter. I see hogdon is calling for a Max of 51...it would give me a thermometer...sort of...as to where to start. All the responses are converting me from slight...
A couple yrs ago I bought some of noslers 3030 ballistic tips as blems from sps. They were naked...not coated w/the normal black coating. Figured I'd load em gentle and go for a deer out of my 308. But those couple bags of bullets made me buy a used marlin...then another...then a couple...
Its pretty much like any bottleneck case but i sure try to not move the shoulder more than needed via measuring w/hornady head space measurer.
Crimping is pretty much a must for a tube magazine.
I've used the seating die but much much prefer the lee collet crimper.
If you see yourself loading...
Picked up a bottle on a whim at the gunshop today and got a little buyers remorse. Seems like there's only limited data and hogdon only publishes in cartridges that they deemed to have good performance.
Looks like I can burn it in my 243 and 06 but was hoping for alot more info.
Anyone got...
I think you are 100% correct going deeper w/the seating.
I have a 300 wby ul and I half shot out the barrel w/tons of different slow powders and many applicable bullets.
All my other wby shot great near clip length but this thing was doing 5-6" groups at 200.
As soon as I seated deep....like...
They make the weatherby calibers for sure.
I don't know what else they make but I'm gonna put out there that I'm 99% sure they don't make it all.
I would be really really loyal to nosler if I thought it was or they put a code that we could recognize which ones were.
Its possible the agreement to...
Dubyam is correct but I can tell you from using the hornady concentricity corrector and the true tool that there are HUGE differences in softness. Win and norma brass seems to be the softest and seems to stay that way longest. I've seen some brands of virgin casings that are so tough they can...
