    Ready for state LR championship

That sounds about right for a 6BR if you have quite a bit of freebore. 32.8 grains of Varget pushes the 105 at 2975-ish in my 30" barrel. I haven't checked velocity in over a year, but that was where it was at after about 200 rounds. I ran 33.2 grains for a while, but brass life is affected...

Redding Type-S FL Bushing Die...how to adjust it properly !

Start by deciding whether you are going to use the die with the sizing button or not. If not, remove the button from the decapping rod and put the other attachment for the decapping pin. Place the bushing you will use into the die (bushing size down) and screw the top back down into the die...

    Ready for state LR championship

Little update on the LR state championship last weekend: Saturday was 3 matches at 1000 plus the team match. There was really switchy winds that caused a lot of vertical problems for the guys shooting the small and FTR calibers (223 & 308). High humidity and mid 80 temps made for a long day. My...

    Ready for state LR championship

Minnesota has their long range state F-class championship this weekend at the only 1000 yard range in the state. Format is three matches on Saturday with 2 sighters and 20 shots for record, followed by one match as a two person team (if you want to shoot). Sunday is a palma format which is two...

What is the best fastest cleaner you ever used?

Yep...I mixed the two in one of my plastic bottles with a flip open nozzle and squeeze it on the patch from the port on the rod guide. It doesn't seem to settle out or separate.

What is the best fastest cleaner you ever used?

A lot of benchrest shooters used this combo, but are running into the same problem you are. Some of us are starting to use Kroil and Seafoam 50/50. It has worked for me. I just took care of a nasty carbon ring in one of my competition rifles with this combo.

338 Alaskan re stock project (pic heavy)

Really nice craftsmanship...I'm doing a lot of the same things to the original stock of a 1949 model 70.

I just leave for Florida and don't deal with the -20 stuff anymore... :)

    ...temps & pressure...

We had our Thursday night 1000 yard league matches last night. Temps were around 80 degrees with a bit higher than normal humidity. At about shot 15 (22 minutes to shoot 22 rounds), my shots started to climb on me, as they did for several others. I shoot a straight 1.25, 30 inch barrel in 6BRX...

    1,000 Yard F-Class Match with 6.5X47

Nice shooting at 1000. The difference of how wind effects bullets at the 800 + range is hard to imagine until you watch it happen. Where was this match held at?

    M70 Alaskan 338 Win Mag

Pretty good groups Scott. Have you tried playing around with the torque on the action screws since you put the Micky stock on? Barrel harmonics are a strange thing, and this barrel might not like something in the shape or weight of the 225.

I buy most of my Bartlein barrels and Lapua brass from them. Flat rate shipping on most orders no matter how much you buy.

For all you 35 Whelen guys

Pretty good price on top quality brass with proper headstamp. This should be a lifetime supply unless you are shooting p-dogs... http://www.bullets.com/products/-35-Whe ... 50/BL10553

    600 Yard F-Class match W/6.5X47

Let us know how the 1000 yard matches go. I will be interested in knowing how many minutes you have to come up from 600 to 1000 with the velocities you are running. In my 6BRX it is 12 minutes running the 105 hybrid at 2980. Wind reading is what separates the good shooters from the also-rans...

    600 Yard F-Class match W/6.5X47

Give us the details of your load...bullet, powder, primer, etc. What is the stock you built the rifle on? I use the same rear bag for my matches. It looks like your scores should get you to master classification...nice shooting.

    Scales

From the guys who have been using these to compare powder charges against their high buck models on 6BR website, these are supposed to be unbelievable for the money: http://www.bullets.com/products/Powder-Scale/BE1188

Yes, I'm infected and I found the cure!

Really nice setup Jake. You will be shooting bullets of 55 grains or less I presume. Those little pills will only be a half step slower than a 22-250 using a lot less powder! You may want to check out: http://forum.accurateshooter.com/index. ... =3873568.0 What are you planning on for dies?

Visited a 600 yard IBS match this weekend

Nice pics Troy! 600 yards is only mid-range...1000 yards is where it starts to get tricky with the wind. Judging by the wind flag it looks like a fairly mild (for South Dakota) 9 o'clock wind. There is at least $5K sitting on the table in the first pic: Farley front rest - $1200 Gator...

    260 rem or 6.5 Creedmoor

The biggest thing to make sure of is that you are buying the Savage target action with whatever model you decide on (Only comes on a few models). I have a LRPV in .223 (7 twist, 28" barrel) that will shoot 3" groups at 600 yards with 80.5 grain bullets quite easily. There is a big difference...

    Throating Reamer method?

Yup, the barrel has to come off. Make up a dummy round for the gunsmith who is doing the work and he can be really close to the jump you are looking for. Realize that as the throat wears you will have to move the bullet further out to maintain the same jump to the lands.
