    Quick Load .45acp

Unfortunately, QL does not include anything from Zero or Roze Distribution in the bullet databases. However, I looked at the conical 185-grain HP on Roze's website and the profile is similar to Speer's 185-grain Gold Dot. I ran that bullet, and with a 4.2 grains of Clays your velocity should be...

    Copper?

I can imagine that. I guess I'll have to shoot a few hogs to see how it behaves. If I get bang-flops, I don't care if the petals separate and fly to Hong Kong. I'd just hate to mutilate one of our nice little Central Texas Whitetail bucks unnecessarily.

    Please anyone with quickload

First, note that max loads given on the Hodgdon website max out at approximately 3350 to 3400 fps--including the 50-grain V-Max. Be aware that brass volume can have a large influence on velocities at a given charge, as is also true with your chamber. Another variable is the chronograph itself...

    Please anyone with quickload

Should be fine. Just watch your velocities, and if/when you reach about 3400 fps, you're pretty close to the limit.

I ran this with the V-Max.

I use X-Terminator in my M70 HV in .223, and I found 25.6 grain of X-Terminator to be very accurate. According to my records I have not chronographed it, which kinda surprises me, and QL indicates I'm giving up some velocity, but for half-MOA performance I won't complain too much. I am shooting...

    Copper?

Re: the Barnes 80-grain TTSX... I tried this bullet in my 6mm-284 and got amazing accuracy and speed. I found a great load running just shy of 3600 fps. I don't doubt for an instant that it will open up, but I am wondering if it will be too destructive within 100 yards. Any insight on this?

    NEEDS SAYING

If JFK were to rise from the dead he'd regard the dimocrat party as communists. He wouldn't excuse the republican party either, they've gone along with the uniparty BS for far too long. However, I'll vehemently contradict anyone who asserts that "the right" has become radical in any way, shape...

    Regretful, but necessary

I hereby announce my separation from the National Rifle Association and the affiliated Texas State Rifle Association. Why? We know what the NRA became while we slept. While there's noise about WLP having been removed from leadership, that is all it is. The NRA will NEVER become what it was...

    Little Informal Primer Test

I'd try it again with brass all matched for volume and with case necks annealed, and like DrMike says, use larger sample sizes. Even if those were not factors in the results you see, it could be that the charge weight of that powder just isn't optimal for the primer and it's also possible the...

    Cartridges You Don't Load For

I was there once upon a time. Then someone gave me a MEC shotshell press for 12 Gauge. Now I have one for 20 Gauge as well. Hope you're doing well, Bruce!

    Cartridges You Don't Load For

I once swore to myself that I'd never load for an AR15. That went out the window when I started hunting hogs with an AR about 15 years ago. Then I swore I'd never load 5.56 55-grain FMJs. That went out the window when The Zero started talking about banning some ammo, or something along those...

    6.5 grendel scope

Never mind...I don't know why I didn't just look it up myself in the first place. It looks like the Maven is a bit stingy with eye relief @ about 3 inches. You get 4 inches with the Tract (and an etched reticle, to boot) so if I do end up needing another 2-10x, it's more likely to be a Tract...

    6.5 grendel scope

Do you mean you have not bought it because of the wire reticle? What is the price on their scope?

    6.5 grendel scope

I just mounted a Toric UHD 2-10x42 with T-Plex reticle (I prefer the simplest of reticles) on one of my rifles last week. All I have done with it is a sight in at 200, but I can tell already it is a mighty fine scope. I can see ending up with one or two more in the not-too-distant future.

Advice Needed: Powder choice for 150gr. Accubond in .270Win

Joe..."cold" being a relative term, where do you shoot and hunt, and what is "cold" to you? I ask because I have a few pounds of 7828 for my .264, but that rifle will be going down the road shortly and I have not made a plan to continue using that powder.

    Fiochi small rifle primers?

I'm using Fiocchi small pistol in 9mm loads. Based on that limited experience I wouldn't hesitate to try their other primers as well. I've also been using Ginex large pistol for 10mm. They're fine and I wouldn't balk at using Ginex rifle primers either.

    Reloader 16 in stock

Re16 is a great powder. I use it in .30-06 and .260 Rem and to be honest, I think it may be a little better than H4350 in those cartridges. I just wish availability was better...and I'd love to see Re23 on the shelves. I never even got to try it before it disappeared.

    Runout on 6.5 Creedmoor necks
