    QuickLoad questions thread...

All you gotta do is use .338-06 with case capacity adjusted to match your real world fireformed AI cases. The shoulder shape differences won't mean a thing.

    25 cal LR Accubond

I don't think high Rate-of-Twist rifles in .25 and .27 calibers will ever happen. Too much inertia to overcome.

Which cal would be better for fireforming

Well, I guess I am too. I just realized I typed and posted ".30-67" instead of .30-06!

    Newest bout of RADD

Nice rifles you got there, HTD. Myself, I can't think of a reason in the world to own a Garand but I'd still jump at the chance to get one as nice as any of those if the price was right. There IS just something about them...

    Rifle Stock Question

I think I am just out and out contrary. I love a nice walnut stock, but I hate for them to get beat up. I have several Model 70 Classics that have virtually perfect walnut stocks. One of them is a 1-in-500 Super Grade Midway edition in .280 Remington, and I REALLY didn't want that one dinged...

Which cal would be better for fireforming

Muzz, the way to go would be to neck those .30-06 cases down just enough so they can chamber in the .280 AI rifle. You don't want any fore or aft movement of the case in the chamber as you are fireforming. BTW, the .280's shoulder is 0.050 inch further forward than the .30-67 and .270, not...

    quickload update

    If you had your choice...

I like the idea of a Big Bore 94 in .375 Winchester. Not so sure what the cartridge can do (but I'll bet it's fine for lots of things within limited ranges), but the rifles themselves are very seductive!

    Good Grief

I'll throw in a somewhat different viewpoint... I think there are as many different perspectives on all this as there are shooters, really. While I do adhere to the "one bullet" per rifle philosophy, I cannot resist trying new powders and an occasional new-to-me technique. I DO enjoy hunting...

TD, about those rupturing WLRMs...we're they brass colored cups or the nickel plated variety?

    Ruger Number One Discontinued?

Oh...that. Hang in there, maybe something will come your way. The good new is, they're still makin' em. Do NOT give up!

    Ruger Number One Discontinued?

What's stopping you from owning a Model 70, CL??

    Reloading for an AR

Since you're talking about volume loading, I'd give some thought to powder selection. If you're as picky as I am about charge consistency I'd suggest something that flows through a measure well. AA2460, AA2230, H335, TAC, W748, and similar powders are the ones I'd be looking at. Benchmark is...

Who has worked with Re16 already? What about QL??

Dwh, are you speaking of the latest update disc, or a new QL v3.9 installation? I've never been real sure just exactly what I've been getting as I update my original installation, which is 3.6. My last update was a 2015 update disc.

Who has worked with Re16 already? What about QL??

That's what I was thinking about Re17...so I never tried it. I'm not keen on 17 anyway, too much variation with temperature. I'm thinking I won't be able to get enough Re16 in the case either since I can barely get enough Re15 in the case to approach maximum pressure and velocity. I may go...

    Stocking up..........Don't have to

"It can never happen here" is very dangerous thinking.

Who has worked with Re16 already? What about QL??

Thanks, Dwh. I notice that Re15 is not showing up in that powder profile, which is disappointing. I was hoping to make a direct comparison. Truck driver, was it you who had played with Re17 in the Whelen some time back? Or was that someone else?
