My daughter has been shooting a .260 Rem for about 14yrs now and the only bullet she uses is the Sierra 120gr Pro Hunter. We started out with the 120gr BT but there was a time when that bullet almost became extinct so we had to find something else, so we went with the Sierra which was available...
Agree!, the 25.06 is no doubt my favorite caliber and I've been shooting one for around 35yrs with excellent results. The only game i hunt here in NC is deer, coyotes and an occasional hog and the 25.06 has always been pure poison on each. It's a mild recoiling, flat shooting and accurate...
I don't have much to add but I'll share mine and my daughters experience with the .260. My daughter has been shooting one for around 16yrs now. I can't comment on a 130-140gr bullet because we've never used anything over a 120gr bullet but i'll share our experience with what we've used. She...
Thats awesome, building memories, congrats to you and your son. You never forget your first kill. Hats off to you for getting your son involved in the great outdoors and hunting, I'm sure he's hooked for life.
I've had really good success with Varget in my LTR .308 with the 125gr Ballistic tips and deer. Punching paper Varget was excellent with the Nosler 168gr CC, very accurate and consistent at all ranges. I also had really good results with RL15 with both bullets, but Varget was a little better.
I have something similar going on with a Ruger stainless 357mag 6" barrel. I have a rod in the bottom back of the safe and the pistol is on a top shelf in a cloth case. Everytime i take it out it has surface rust on it. I clean it up and put it back and next time I check it has started again. I...
I'm looking hard at crossbows lately because my back, elbows and shoulders are about shot from years of sports and compounds. That Killer Instinct is no doubt a sweet looking setup especially the size of it and i like the all black color, looks stealthy. I've been looking hard at the Excalibur...
I've used it in the past with good results in my 25.06 with 115 - 120gr bullets. The local gun shop here has several 1lb cans on the shelf but at $75 a can that's probably why it's still there. I have just over a pound in my cabinet that's been in there for a while and i know this because it...
I can't add much to what's already been said. I too pretty much use 0.010 as a standard with everything and usually find a accurate load at that distance. The only exception was with the TSX and i tried 0.010 with those and accuracy wasn't pretty at all. After looking at the little insert in the...
Looks like sausage and bacon for breakfast for a while. Congrats and good shooting!, nice looking hogs and some great-looking bullet performance as well.
Some great looking rifles here for sure. I'll be using the same rifle that I've used for what seems like forever and that's the Remington CDL 25.06 with the Speer 120gr Hot-Cor. This has been my go-to for deer and coyotes for a very long time and no doubt my favorite. My daughter has a Rem .260...
Thanks. She shoots a Rem 700 SPS .260 that i dropped in a CDL wood stock. She started out at age 8 with a Rem 7 .260 and she wanted a 700 but wanted to stay with the .260 so that's what i bought her. I bedded the action, floated the barrel, squared the bolt face and dropped in a Timney trigger...
I have a Glock G36 which is my main conceal carry pistol and i also have a G33 that i keep around the house. I had a G43 that i gave my daughter when she graduated and I've been wanting get another 9mm to replace it with. I was looking at the G17, 19 and 45 and i researched them to death. After...
