    Got me some 348 bullets.

Great snag! I don't own a .348 but have loaded it for another for years. It is his bullet of choice. Hope to have a model 71 in the future but they are not easy to find. I don't trust these online auction houses when buying a firearm. Firearms are something I want to touch, feel, and look at...

It is sad to say that I have several that are either unused or underused.

    M70 push feed vs. M700

I have both and love them. That said the M700 has more customizing options available off the shelf. As an example, I used a M700 for my 338-06 build because it gave me the option to add a detachable magazine.

Another use For Ramshot big game

Big Game is the powder I use in my 17-204. It produces tiny groups with good velocity.

    Blackhorn 209 Powder

It's available and expensive! Hodgdon has downsized the bottle to 8oz. and is charging $55.99 plus hazmat, shipping, and tax on their website. It has gotten cheaper per round to shoot any of my centerfires than my muzzleloader these days.

    Warning

Paul, I just logged in to them fine. You may want them to check to see if there has been an update to your anti-virus software that is causing the problem.

    Winchester 348

The model 71 is truly a classic and it's too bad that Hornady dropped the 200 grain .348 bullet from their line. Owning a model 71 and a 64 is on my bucket list.

    What's Your "Fun Gun"?

My favorite is a 4&1/2" Browning Nomad .22 that I bought at a gun show 50 years ago. When it comes to hunting or pure fun it is my go-to pistol. I've taken many squirrels, raccoons, coyotes, and even a deer with a broken leg that had been hit by a car. I have a model 41 S&W and a flat side...

    Powder in my area.

We are seeing a few small quantities of H4831, H4350, Varget, and Reloader 25 showing up in 1# locally but they sell out quickly. The price has been running at $59.99 a pound.

    Now for Marlin Maniacs!

My Marlin collection consists of a model 25 (.22LR), a model 29 (.22LR), a model 336RC (30/30) and a model 1895 (45/70). I enjoy shooting them all from time to time. Note that I only shoot standard velocity .22 ammunition in the model 29.

    Experiences with 8MM's

The 8mm is one caliber that I've not owned but can't see why it is wouldn't be fine for hunting almost anything. Looking there is a much bigger selection of bullets (if you can find them) than I thought there would be. I've read that large numbers of surplus 98 Mausers were rechambered to 8mm-06...

    Savage 99 Project

My Savage 99CL .308 became a .358 Win thanks to JES. My youngest son harvested his first deer with it when it was still a .308. I'm sorry to say that it doesn't get used much anymore but it is still a joy to shoot.

    Not Bad.

So many that I've looked at have multiple holes in the receivers for scope mounts or receiver sights, stocks cutoff or recoil pads added. Those kinds of modifications don't impact their usability but really hurts the collection value.

    Not Bad.

It is getting harder and harder to find a good model 71 that is still all original. I have a love for the 71 and the model 64.
