I scored an 8 pounder of R26 for $399 at a local shop a couple of weeks ago. There were a few bricks of CCI BR-2s on the shelf for $120, but I left them where they were.

I run that same bullet at 3,000-3,050 fps in 270 Win. I would have no qualms with using it as an elk or moose load.

I've only used it in 280 Ackley, but I have no complaints. My loads are for hunting, so I don't shoot a lot of rounds through that rifle. My loads are pretty stout though and the brass has held up well. I think I have 4 firings on my oldest pieces and they're still going strong. The only pieces...

Nice Find! I really like those pump guns for woods rifles. I've got 3 of them in the newer model 7600 version, 308, 06, & 35 Whelen. I favor the Leupold VX3 in either 1.5-5 or 2.5-8 for this type of rig.
