Thanks Sondog and 358 WCF. That is great shooting with the fireforming loads.
Good to know on the S&B primer pockets. They clocked 2450ish fps for me.
Will keep the LRX in mind for game along with the 120 gr class for fun. I am hitting the lands around 2.9" COAL, so their should be plenty of...
Thanks Cosh. Your 6.5x55 and the 6.5 Creedmoor should be about the same ballistically. Most of my reloading has been for 30-06, 280 Rem and Ackley with 24" tubes with heavy for caliber bullets. So this is a new exercise for me. Thank you again for the link!
Please let me know how the IMR 4451...
I have a Sauer 100 inbound in 6.5 Creedmoor and a 20" barrel. It will be used with a 9" suppressor, which might add some velocity to the loads; but I don't think it would make the slower powders suitable...
I am totally new to the 6.5 Creedmoor and picked-up a box of the 130 grain Sierra Game...
Ihsako and SJB358 - Thank you for the feedback / info.
This is on my list of things to try when I get a chance, that is to convey when I once again have access to the 500 yard range up north. Also, I just got two suppressors extremely early (3 months or less for approval) - so I've been...
Grry10,
No experience with your exact setup, so I'm sorry but I'm not the guy you requested... I would 2nd what Charile wrote about contacting Browning, something sounds off about the rifle. Might be a cockeyed bolt or chamber, maybe a nick on the muzzle, overly aggressive cleaning with...
Ihsako,
I responded to your PM, but it still shows as "outgoing" in my mailbox.
I'm using a battery backup system (which includes surge protection and acts as a line conditioner) to help with dirty power. Dirty power, as I'm using it, is when their is a lot of micro power surges or drops in...
TD,
I wasn't going to respond to a week old thread but I guess I should.
I don't have hands on experience with the Sig rangefinders, let alone the bluetooth ones; but all the Sig Optics I have used have been adequate with decent low light performance and good clarity. Longer range is always...
No better automated system under $400 that I know of. The Chargemaster Lite I think does a comparable job, just a lower maximum scale weight. My 1500 with a few modifications throws good charges with good accuracy. I use a Gempro 250 to verify weights along with a Layman M5.
Long story short...
Doug,
Thanks for the responses and please let me know how the LRAB's turn out; I know they can be pretty picky on seating depth. I have a box of them to try as well.
Was their any rhyme or reason to the flyers? Last round of each group or after having to resettle the rifle on bags or bipod? I've had random flyers pop-up due to light conditions even - lights up sight up which could match the first target but not the 2nd or 3rd which are horizontally...
Thank you for the responses.
Doug, do you mind telling what your COAL is with the LRAB's? It sounds like you might be seating longer than I can.
Dan, starting low is the plan - thinking 54 grains and working up to 59-60ish. I'm having to seat the bullets below the max COAL length of 3.33 for...
Rifle should be threaded 5/8x24 - so their should be a few proprietary brakes out their. They would probably limit you to suppressors by the same manufacturer though and not all of them have factory available shields.
I'm not really knowledgeable on suppressors but I would sure think that...
They look like really nice rifles - considering one my self in 44 mag.
Let us know how you like it!
On the suppressor side of things, just something to check and or verify.
I don't think a lot of the pistol suppressors are available with 13/16x16 thread adapters / inserts. I've seen a decent...
Hi guys,
I have a 280 AI load with RL-22 that I'm considering trying with a spare pound of RL-23. I'm not sold on using RL-23 here, I have a pound of it and thought it might make sense to try it as the RL-22 load is a bit temperature sensitive.
Existing 280 AI load was chronographed around...
remingtonman_25_06 and HAWKEYESATX,
If I had to guess it is a slow lot of H4831. For what ever reason, I have the same issue when using H4831sc.
280 AI with a 24" barrel
160 grain Accubond
CCI-BR2
Hornady AI cases
57.8 grains of one lot of H4831sc and 58.5 grains of H4831sc gives me about...
I'm a little late to the party to answer your question "I have 2# to burn up of H4831 so I'll probably see how it shoots with 5 rounds loaded at 57g and go from there. Will definitely be trying a different powder to add a 100fps, with less pressure, and shoot at the higher node. Any...
Brian,
I agree with you.
I had miss-typed the number. I meant the 45.5 grain as all the calibrated weights were 45.4 grains and you had an un-calibrated weight down at 45.2 grains with a bunch of 45.3 grains and one at 45.5.
I think that tells me that calibrating the chargemaster can be...
Thanks Brian, it will take a bit of time to really process your data. Your Accurate #9 variance seems to match up well with my variance. The IMR 4064 35.5 and 25.5 grain charges are a bit off from what I expect.
With the 35.5 grain charge you reported as low as 35.2 grains - which seems to be...
