Nice, that should work just right in the Western Oregon country. I see the sun was shining, not a common experience for this time of the year. I looks beautiful.
Pretty much what you have Guy except maybe not so many. For hunting my favorite has always been the bolt action. I started with a Remington bolt, and while I still have it, I don't hunt it. Targets are the same with a Remington Tactical, plinking is typically of the .223 variety. There is a...
There is a reason that most now use scopes, and it's not your eyes. Its because they make us better shooters, and hunters. In my life time, I "NEVER" hunted with an open sighted rifle. Even back in the 60's my rifle had a scope. My first big game kill, was in 1961 with a used Model 721...
Variable's on all. I got rid of the fixed power scopes back in the 70's. I now have primarily Zeiss and Leupold. The reason is clarity and long distance advantage. When I am hiking and hunting my scope is usually set on five, if in the dark timber, as low as it would go. Trying to pick a...
Rommel, that is beyond outstanding, while it takes great hardware it also takes a great shooter. That is an outstanding accomplishment that few could accomplish. Again congratulations on your win.
I have used the imperial sizing wax for years, it has worked well for me. I do not lubricate the inside of every case. I take a trace on my finger and run it across the mouth, of about every third case. I have never had any problems. I just load them and fire them.
Some kind of sterilizing hand washing fluid
Extra pair if eyeglasses or contacts if appropriate.
forks/spoons
Otherwise it Looks great to me. Fantastic job, What's the glock for??
I am loading 44.5 in my Remington Tactical, with 150's. The loading manuals are usually conservative, but also their data is usually tested with bolt rifles.
I do not have specific hunting experience with the 280 AI, but I have one and am really impressed. I am sure its comparable to the 6.5-06 which would also be great.
If your sole purpose for the 06 is elk hunting I would be using a premium hunting bullet in 165 or 180 weight for the 06. I am thinking that most 168 gr, .308 diameter bullets, are not made for hunting.
Guide--- I have been loading the 300 WM since 1969, it is a traffic cartridge and probably one of the best cartridges for elk available. Recoil is a little stiff, and you do have to watch seperation just forward of the belt. There are no issues with primers, and a CCI magnum primer has been my...
