Mine is in the back of the garage, approximately 20 X 36 with two access doors, 3 big windows and an electric wall heater. It"s well insulated and easy to heat. My treadmill is in front of a window , as well as some other stuff. My components are in a smaller room inside of the bigger area. I...
I am also an 06 lover, over my lifetime i have 7 or 8 and still own two.. Killed many deer and elk with them over the years. BUT, pretty much whatever you can do with the 06 you can do "BETTER" , with a 300WM or similar. Recoil aside they are a significant improvement over the 06. Using the...
Great post, we travel around a lot, and probably are skimmed at once a year. My wife who is a retired banker, usually has a new card mailed to us and all issues settled within a few hours. She is a pro...
I have several cards (to many) that all give money or credits back to us.
I found this quote after looking for a while this morning. "You should not use a rifle that will kill an animal when everything goes right; you should use one that will do the job when everything goes wrong." -Bob Hagel" I believe this sincerely.
I doubt it's an issue with being new. It's most likely case volume, or as mentioned below neck tension. All brass is not the same some is thicker than others.
When I started load development with my .308 rem Tactical, I had similar results. It didn't make much difference which powder I used, or seating depth the results were the same. My groups were OK but not what one would expect. I tried several different powders and Lapua, Remington, Lake City...
I have found the ABLR to be temperamental, and my experience with them is similar to yours. After trying them in three different 7MM's I switched to the standard 160's with better results. Someone else will most likely come along and share their experiences with you. Sorry I cannot be more...
Shot placement is critical no matter what you use. A high velocity , large caliber rifle can sometimes make up for a bad hit, but it's not something to count on. My last two elk have been taken with a 7mm, 160 AB out of the muzzle at 3000 fps. Both were one shot kills, with both animals being...
For targets( limited amounts) with my 308 tactical, I use both Nosler CC and Sierra MK, 168 gr. boat tail bullets. I am consistently shooting dime size or smaller groups at 100 yards. It holds that consistency out 400. I do not hunt big game with this rifle or these bullets. For coyotes I prefer...
I gave several hundred bullets, cases and other stuff to my elk hunting partners last fall. Some were different calibers than I have, others were some that I would never use. I think mostly .270 and ? They are good to me, if I come up short it they help me. I am beyond buying anything new.
