Ran some 50 gr Blitzkings with a max charge of Varget. This is the same exact load I run with the 45 gr Varminter and had the same p o i. I’m gonna try the 50 gr Varminter with the same load and see how they shoot. From what I’ve read the Blitzking is a little on the explosive side on impact.

I haven’t checked the velocity yet. I need to borrow my friends chronometer and check the speeds of a few loads I have worked up. It prints the same group with the same load from a 50 gr Blitzking. I’ve got some 50 gr Varminter ordered to see how they shoot.

Turns out my 7mm-08 shoots a 150 gr BT best with 45.5 gr of IMR-4831.

Haven’t been on in a while and thought I’d post a pic of the load I came up with for my 22-250 with a 45 gr Sierra Varminter with 36 gr of Varget. Can’t wait to put em to use coyote hunting this winter.

I was looking at the Savage 110 Storm in 280 AI and it has a 22” barrel. Doesn’t that kinda defeat the purpose of having a 280 AI when it comes to muzzle velocity?

The ogive measurement is 2.316, they’re .030 off the lands.

I’m using 44.5 gr charge. I used the Reloader 17 data out of my Hornady manual. Haven’t checked MV yet. I’m really interested in seeing how fast it’s leaving the barrel.

Turns out my Savage model 16 Weather Warrior likes a 160 gr Accubond with Reloader 17 best. It wouldn’t shoot a 120 or 140 gr bullets no matter what I tried.

I tried a few different 140 & 120 gr bullets with various powder and primer combinations and so far it shoots a 160 gr Accubond with RL-17 best. I may switch over to a Hornady Interlock is Gameking instead, at 08 Velocities the Accubond might be a little too stout of a bullet. I’m shooting em...

If they shoot like the 50 gr Blitzking does in mine you won’t be dissapointed with em.

I’ve always used 3 inch #4 buckshot from a modified tube.

If I don’t draw the tag I’m Either doing an otc Elk tag for Colorado or Idaho.

Just applied for a 3rd season rifle buck tag and another preference point for Elk.

I’ve got a Hornady O A L gauge, I sent off to Midsouth Shooters Supply for the modifiedcade I need and the bullet comparator set. This should make the job much easier.

That’s what I did. I’ll find a used case with a loser neck and do it over. It was recommended to me to use a sized case.
