When I first started reloading for my 280 I used a 140 gr Sierra Prohunter with IMR-4831 and took a few hogs and a couple deer where I hunted at near Brunswick GA and they worked great. My go to load now is a 140 Accubond with IMR-4831. My 280 was so so with 150-160 gr bullets.
Tried a box of Trophy Trophy Grade 7mm-08 140 gr Accubond ammunition this morning and was really surprised at how well it shot. Hands down the most accurate out of what I tried. Wouldn’t be afraid to go hunt with it.
Those look pretty impressive, I’m trying to find some locally around here but haven’t had any luck. Looks like I’m gonna have to bite the bullet and pay that bs hazmat charge and order a pound online.
I’ve got a 50 cal Renegade, it’s a tack driver with 90 gr of Pyrodex and a round ball. I’ve lost track of the number of deer i’ve Taken with it, taken s few hogs with it too.
Couldn’t get 140 gr Ballistic Tip to shoot for anything out of my 7mm-08 no matter what I tried and decided to try a 150 gr BT instead with H4350, what a difference going to a heavier bullet made. I need to run it again to confirm it.
