Coyotes are a target of opportunity here too. I've taken two with a bow whilesitting in a tree stand bow hunting. I have a 22-250 set up for just that purpose and a 12 ha with #4 buckshot.
I'm putting in for a 3rd rifle season deer tag for Colorado, If I don't draw that I may get an otc archery Elk tag of go for an otc deer tag for Idaho.
Hit the range today with my 7mm-08 and it loves the load I got worked up with a 140 gr AB with IMR-4350 and a fed 210 primer. The first shot/fowler round is just right of the main group
I'm not sure how far the bullet jump is? The OAL is 2.780, these are the first handloads I've run through a new Savage Model 16 Weather Warrior I'm about 75% of the way through breakin' in the barrel on. I'm gonna up the charge a 1/2 grain and see what happens next time I get out.
Went out to the range yesterday after work and put 5 rounds through my 7mm-08 with 140 gr Accubonds loaded with 44 gr of IMR-4350 with a CCI LR primer and was really surprised with the results.
I'm gonna start out with 140 gr Ballistic Tips & Accubonds to start out with, I have some Gamekings I ran in my 280 for a while I might try also. I'm gonna get dies and brass ordered in the next couple weeks.
Picked up a new Savage Model 16 Weather Warrior in 7mm-08 last week. Cleaned and mounted the scope on it over the weekend, not sure when I'll start to break in the barrel, I'm gonna be bowhunting the next couple weekends.
