    New Tikka 6.5x55

I have two Tikkas in 6.5x55, one like yours and the other is a stainless synthetic. I think you are gonna love it! Light recoil, better than adequate accuracy, and plenty of energy for deer sized game. I like 120BTs for deer in mine. Ron

    Bullets For Sale or Trade

Otter, I have a partial bag of 140 BT seconds if that will work for you. I didn't count them but I'm estimating there are 25-30 in it. I'm really not needing the 145s, but if you PM your address to me I'll send'em to you. No charge. Ron

    Help me choose?

My two stepsons and I have had excellent results on deer using Hornady factory loads, both the Precision Hunter 143 ELD-X and the white box match ammo using 147 ELD-M's. I know there have been discussions about the merits, or lack of them, using match bullets for hunting, but I am only stating...

    Help me choose?

I have/have had several Bergaras in various calibers (not 7mm-08) and had no issues with any of them. I also own a Tikka in 7mm-08 and have been extremely happy with it. Regarding your consideration of the 6.5 PRC, it has rapidly become one of my favorite deer rounds. I have a Tikka T3x...

    2023 Trail Cam Pics

We put out a corn pile with a camera nearby. My wife loves to watch the deer and we've managed to catch some nice photos so far this year. It just happens to be adjacent to my wife's deer stand. In the first pic of the mama and fawn, if you look to the far right you'll see a second fawn. Ron

    Tikka 7-08

Tikkas are my favorite rifle hands down. I own 20 something now and have had more over the years but only one was a problem child. A vast majority were synthetic stocked. Many moons ago, I bought a brand new synthetic T3 in 338 Federal off Gunbroker. It would shoot groups thumbnail size or...

    Buck rubs or.....?

Well, my wife did what any red blooded American would do and Googled it. She found a site that had photos of similar marks on trees/ saplings and it said deer will eat the bark. I don't recall ever seeing this occurring this time of year but it would at least explain how/why it is happening. Ron

    Buck rubs or.....?

That had been suggested by a brother in law but we haven't seen or heard any indications of feral hogs in our vicinity. The only things we've seen on camera or naked eye are deer, turkeys, squirrels, and one coon. As an aside, on March 19 my wife and I cut some brush so we could have a better...

    Buck rubs or.....?

Central Missouri. No, we don't have porcupines, at least in my area. Ron

    Buck rubs or.....?

Our deer season ended January 15th but on our farm we have continued to find what appear to me to be buck rubs. This has been consistent up to, and including, today. I know it's the wrong time of year and we haven't seen any deer with real world antlers in person or on trail cameras. I...

Another successful hunt from my recliner

Ok, due to popular request, here is the latest in hi-tech hunting stands. I didn't know it when I bought it that it would work out so well but so far it has exceeded all expectations.

Another successful hunt from my recliner

There I was, in my recliner, enjoying my coffee, when this guy decided to trot through our pasture. I grabbed my Remington 783 223 loaded with 55 gr Blitzkings and explained to him that wasn't a good idea. No fawns for him.

    2023 Hunting Season

Our spring turkey season opened April17 but I hadn't been hunting yet. All the gobblers I'd heard were miles away and the only turkeys I'd seen on our farm had been hens. After lunch today, I was in my recliner and my wife headed outside. She came back inside quickly and said, "There are...

    Good day at the range

Thanks guys. Something I forgot to mention is I got my first suppressor out of ATF jail the other day. We tried it out and it was so cool hearing the sound of the bullet hitting steel being louder than the report of the rifle. Ron

    Good day at the range

My oldest stepson, Josh, and I went to a range yesterday that offers a 500 yd distance. We shot steel targets (provided by the range) and some paper. Sierra 169gr Matchkings, 44 gr Varget, 100 yds. This was my first try with this relatively new bullet. I left the target in Josh's truck so I...

    Word on Remington 7600

Man, if they DID stop production, I'm scared to think how high prices will go. The sky's the limit.
