I agree with Dr. Mike.
Always drop back and restart the load.
I shouldn't take more than a few rounds to
see where your at if you already have an
accurate load from another lot. IMHO RE22
is one of the worst offenders along with Varget.
Don't take chances.
Saw the burning on TV. Hope you and your family are not
in any danger. Wish I was Brown Bear hunting. Good luck.
Alaska taught me how small I really was. And how big God is.
No..Only for her to shoot a larger gun. She shoots my Anschutz .22mag now
and it fits her small frame well. After she gets use to the 308 I will let her
shoot higher vel, and weight. We hunt together out of a ground blind that
I have set up a table with rests so it is just like shooting at the...
I have thought about that and will be filling the case and doing the math
as per IMR's recommendation prior to loading less. This is a good load
for her though. She's excited.
That fire still burning up There?
Forgot to add this also. I shot jugs to check for expansion.
And....thinking 1200 ish I thought 3 jugs was enough.
NOT.........blew through all 3 couldn't find it on the ground
it went into the berm....bummer.
I guess I left my brain out when I loaded @ 11.0gr.
Thinking I was going to be around 1200 with the 110"s.
Average velocity was 1502 with a ES of 39 and SD of 15
for 5 shots. The keyhole problem is solved, the data on the Berger
website helped {Thanks Jason}..The group was a ragged hole @ 50yds...
Going to load them this afternoon. I'll pop off a couple
in the back yard to see if they stabilize. I'll shoot jugs to see
if they expand and use the chrono. Stand by for results.
Here's what they look like 2.500 COAL.
I have several old boxes of Sierra .30 cal
110gr PSP that my father would load for his
M1 carbine. The look short seating them could
be tricky. I 'll try a few and see how it goes.
Thanks Jason that is what I was looking for.
Looks like 150gr partitions with their short OAL
of 1.100 will fly for me. Its 85 deg here and we are
760msl.
Well I have shot 4 strings starting at 10gr working up to 11.5
Velocities were pretty much as IMR posted. Only problem is
none of the loads stabilized my 165 BT's. All these strings were
from 50yds. From the photos you can see they continued to keyhole.
No recoil to speak of and fairly quite...
I too want to use it to allow my daughter 13 to get use
to shooting the .308. I am loading some today and we will try
them at the club. I'll post the results once I get it dialed up for
her. Thanks for your reply.
I'm sure this has been asked before and I do see IMR's published data
using TB for reduced loads in .308 win. My question is has anyone here
have any experience loading with it. I have been wanting to try it for a
long time and now have the powder. Yes I will only single load them as
this...
but a vertical shot strand is velocity variations and not a bad thing?
If your are shooting thru a chrony you would see if you are having
velocity variation with the vertical, I would recheck your rifle rests
and how it sits in the bags and your hold.
If its any consolation I have found less...
