    Remington 7600 280 Remington 145 LRX H4831SC

Oh man, that CDL basket weave is a great one. My uncle has bought every basket weave he’s ever seen for sale. 308 I would probably fumble getting my wallet out so fast!

    Remington 7600 280 Remington 145 LRX H4831SC

The newer ones have a plastic trigger assembly, I’m not a huge fan. I’ll buy the older ones preferably, not a fan of the newest model. I don’t know if that drives the older model prices up or not.

    Remington 7600 280 Remington 145 LRX H4831SC

Yes I’ve heard people say pumps aren’t accurate but over the years I probably owned 20+ of them. Never had a bad one yet, and most were as good as my bolt guns. I’m shopping for an older .308 760, I can find them but not for what I want to pay ha!

    Remington 7600 280 Remington 145 LRX H4831SC

I have a real soft spot for these guns, 280 has always been the unicorn, as well as the 25-06, not many around. Very cool setup

    Bighorn Ewe?

The meat is top notch, I have been buying points for Montana the last few years, hoping to go try for another one here before long. Maybe next year!

    Bighorn Ewe?

I did It in Montana when I lived there after realizing a ram was never happening. Went solo, after hunting in Alaska, Montana most of my life, it ended up being one of my favorite, roughest hunts. I honestly didn’t think me or the sheep were making it back to the truck several miles away...

Remington Model 7- 260 trigger question

Yup, take the factory trigger out. Put the Timney in. Sell the factory trigger on eBay for $40. Not a bad deal!

Ever shoot a not so good target you felt good about?

I used to spend hundreds of hours, dollars, working up hunting loads trying to cover holes with dimes. The truth is most of us just don’t need it in a hunting rifle. A 2 MOA rifle fired 30 times at one spot, scope adjusted to the center of this group should be no more than 3” from center hole...

    Dedicated Whitetail Rifle.

Well there isn’t a wrong choice. I bought a 260 for my wife, and the recoil is amazing. I stole her rifle! 7mm-08 can shoot a bit heavier bullet if you prefer that. I have Creedmoor and 260. Not much difference. A lot of people will tell you the CM is better for this reason or that...

Loads for Heavy Bullets in 308?

I used Varget, 760, RL15. I preferred Varget, I could get about 2550 FPS with 180 Partitions at about max load, I think I was about 43 grains when I quit going up. Didn’t push it to pressure signs.

    Rifle value?

A brand new blued 7mm is $549 on GB, a redfield 4-12 new is $250. So about $800 all up. I’d be in the $650 range if I was selling it. Plus or minus depending on want/need degree of the buyer and seller. If I buy used I want a decent discount off new Or there’s no reason to buy used.

    22-250

I had a 1/14” as well, 40-52 was sweet spot. H380 was my favorite powder. I have a 1/12, tried to make it shoot 60 partitions, just won’t do it. Now I’m thinking about a carbon barrel, faster twist.

Wow that is a great gun, super cool.

Dick's Sporting Goods pulling hunting gear

Yes sir, spot on. I just moved from Alaska to Texas due to work. It starts at $1500 for a small whitetail, $2500+ for and 8-10 point. I can literally fly to Alaska, get dropped off in the wilderness for a black bear or caribou for about $2500. Heck I know of a drop off moose hunt for $3000...

Dick's Sporting Goods pulling hunting gear

Leopard skin leotards are excellent camo, super comfy and repel water as good as any of the big 3 companies.......

    Pump guns don't shoot.

I like that “minute of deer”. I have a buddy that hunts from a tree stand in the Midwest with a sentimental Bolt gun, 200 yards maximum, 2” groups. He sees all these posts about bug holes etc and thinks he needs every gun to do that for his deer stand. I explained to him the theory of 30...

Wow!! Wonder if they’d take a check, I just got some in the mail.......

    Pump guns don't shoot.

Yes sir, I loved those things growing up. Since moving to AK I’ve went with all SS bolt guns just for the ease of use in horrible conditions. When I move back south I’ll probably buy another one in 308 this time just for the fun of it.

    Pump guns don't shoot.

I’ve never had a 760/7600 that didn’t shoot well. I’ve heard about them, but just got lucky I guess.
